To take a regular extended lunch break

I'm really struggling to get my exercise fix atm. In winter I usually run with a club or go to the gym. No club or gym atm and whilst I ran on my own a lot in the summer lockdown, it doesn't appeal much in the dark.

I was thinking about if it's possible to run at lunch but only get 30mins. Realistically, to change, shower and get a decent run in I'd need 1hr20? The building is locked at 5:30 so I can't stay late to make the time up but I can wfh (arguably that's what I should be doing anyway but let's not go there now).

It would be unreasonable though, wouldn't it?

Go for a run at 3.30 when it is still light. Yabvu and I think you know it. I also don't believe you have the senior role you think you do in a school. I've got a senior school role and I've not had a break in about 3 years...

Of course you can't, not in this sort of role. You could run before or after school or get a treadmill or exercise bike or do some workouts on YouTube. Some people are lucky and have flexible jobs but your job isn't flexible so you work around it.

@OverTheRainbow88

I recon OP must be the ‘business manager’ or something ; no way is OP in a Teaching/pastoral role
I certainly hope she's not in a pastoral role.

How far do you live from home? Could you run home and get a lift in in the morning?

Heyahun · 07/11/2020 15:23

Could you cycle to and from work instead??

Tbh I do this though - l take about an hour and a half some lunchtimes to get out for a bit or do a home workout then just make up the time later or whatever !

But in your case maybe you can join an online class to do in the evenings or something? My Pilates class in online twice a week

Or get a gym app to use at home in the evening
