This morning woke up believing the stores would re open in December.
Went Xmas shopping today.
Lady who served me in pandora said she didn't think they would be re opening.
Also the lady in primark who served me said the same.
I've decided to finish my shopping this week for Christmas just incase.
Got a lot done today.
What do you think ?
Do you think they will stay shut now.

I had to go shopping today. Town centre was possibly a bit busier than usual on a Monday, but nowhere near as manic as I’d expected.

I’ll be doing most of my shopping online, though as little as poss from amazon.

Can these scaremongering threads be quarantined on the coronavirus board where they belong?

Yes to this. I still remember the 'schools won't possibly reopen in September' miseryfest from the summer.

You mean can people who think about the next steps go back in their box so those who have their head in the sand and carry on regardless?

There's thinking about the next steps and then there's wild speculation with no foundation when people are already a bit anxious sadly.

I think they may allow retail for the sake of the economy but not pubs and restaurants to stop people having Christmas parties and meet ups IF cases drop. Unlikely though given schools and many workplaces are still open so lockdown will continue then I would imagine.

Remmy123 · 02/11/2020 18:59

Yes they will open

ListeningQuietly · 02/11/2020 19:05

And 60 days till the end of Transition
happy times ahead

@Calmandmeasured1

I think shops will re-open on November 2nd when areas are placed into tiers and that, what tier you are in will dictate which types of shops open. We all need to do our bit.

in the areas where the rate has fallen consuderably. If people don't follow the rules and numbers of infections don't go fall drana

Today 😳

🤣🤣

NoBloodyHolly · 02/11/2020 21:50

I work in retail. Today we made more money than any other day this year, by a big margin. Definitely not usual for a November Monday. Lots of customers were saying they were buying Christmas presents in case the shops don’t re-open before, so you’re certainly not alone in your thinking OP.

nosswith · 02/11/2020 21:54

I think they will re-open, but I have my doubts about pubs, gyms and some of the other places that will be closed.

outofthemoon · 02/11/2020 21:58

Shops will reopen.

Schools will close to cover it.
