Abusive ex sends text to say he's reducing maintenance payments for our son. Maintenance was £224 per month agreed through solicitor in 2014 and has never increased since. I've recently heard from my son that exes girlfriend and their baby have moved out due to too much fighting. I'm assuming this is now him splitting maintenance to cover another child so think it's ridiculous he's talking about belt tightening Covid restrictions. Thinking I probably won't bother replying TBH. There is a lot I could say but engaging with him is probably not a good idea.

I agree that it's not worth engaging with him and as what he's proposing is all he's legally required to..don't waste your energy.

His GF has probably seen through him and decided to leave...these ppl never change.

Forget CMS, go for an enforcement of the divorce order.

Enough4me · 02/11/2020 00:42

I've found CMS and direct pay works well. My ex used to threaten payments regularly and now has set-up a direct debit, we also only communicate through my partner as my ex is twisted and can't write politely to me.

Sorry to sound thick but what does ACAB stand for?
Never seen it being used.

It stands for All Cops Are Bastards

I think you are absolutely right not to engage with him. Its also clearly what he is hoping for as he has basically told you what he is doing. I think go through the proper channels. I think you are doing amazingly. He definitely should be paying more and shame on him for not. Disgusting behaviour especially when a salary is so high. Dont engage, in my experience police officers love nothing better than to put their point forward and push and push and then ask why a lot! I really wish you well, you sound like you are doing amazing despite him being a drain on you!

@SpongeWorthy oh wow. How awful.

After having two absolutely lovely cops over here last night, that actually angers me.

They were amazing , one male and one female. The female brushed up all the broken glass and was so caring and patient. They stayed with till I was calm and in good hands.

Your wore masks but your empathy and concern was clearly visible in your eyes and words.

If you are reading this and it was you , thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget you both ThanksThanks
