@eatlessmovemore

Are we allowed out for more than an hours exercise or is it just an hour ? X
Unlimited. It was in the March one. It was a comment from Gove that made people think it was an hour, but it never was.
Pootle40 · 31/10/2020 19:57

Not National as in UK. Just England

titchy · 31/10/2020 19:58

@backaftera2yearbreak

National as in Uk or national as in England? I missed it.
It's England. Not national.
PhilCornwall1 · 31/10/2020 19:58

@chickensoup23

Will hairdressers / barbers be allowed open?
Nope.
Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/10/2020 20:00

All non essential shops, cinemas pubs and restaurants to close from 5 November until 2 December. Take aways can remain open.
People are only allowed out to exercise (say going for a walk or jog)
For shopping
Medical reasons
To Care for a vulnerable relative.
Work from home where they can.
Nurseries Schools Unis and colleges to remain open.
People living alone can still form a support bubble with one household.
Children can move from one home to another where their parents are separated.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/10/2020 20:02

Oh and of course Hair and Beauty salons are to close. I’m not sure about Gyms ect.
I’ll assume so.

ApplestheHare · 31/10/2020 20:06

titchy the UK comprises four nations, one of which is England, so doesn't that mean it's a national lockdown?🤔 Or am I horribly confused about the nations?

eatlessmovemore · 31/10/2020 20:06

What about dentists ? Xx

I found it amusing that our local giant Tesco appears to have gambled and won ... they spent the last 10 days re-opening a giant toy section in-store that they haven't done for at least the last 5 years. It's at least 4x bigger as a section that it was 2 weeks ago ... just in time for all high street competitors to be forced to close down for 4 weeks.

@eatlessmovemore

What about dentists ? Xx
I think they will be open for emergency but not sure on routine. Although they're all about making that money so I'm sure they will want to be open.
eatlessmovemore · 31/10/2020 20:24

So what shops will close then? All apart from food and medicine ?

From the link I posted 45 minutes ago.

MPs will vote on the proposals on Wednesday. If approved the measures will be introduced at 00:01 GMT on Thursday 5 November and remain in place until Wednesday 2 December.

People will be told to stay at home except for education, work (if it can't be done from home), exercise and recreation, medical reasons, shopping for food and other essentials, or to care for others
All pubs and restaurants will have to close (takeaways and deliveries can continue)
All non-essential shops will have to close (supermarkets can sell non-essential goods)
Households will not be allowed to mix with others indoors, or in private gardens
Individuals can meet one person from outside their household in an outside public space
Support bubbles for people who live alone and households made up of single parents and children can continue
Children will be able to move between homes if their parents are separated
Schools, colleges and universities will remain open
Workplaces will be asked to stay open if people cannot work from home - including construction and manufacturing
Outdoor exercise and recreation will be allowed, but gyms will have to close
Clinically vulnerable advised not to go to work if they are unable to work from home
After 2 December, different regions will return to the tiers one to three, depending upon the rates of infection.

You call this discussion?

Grapefruitcauliflower · 31/10/2020 20:46

Was wondering the same, slashlover Hmm

eatlessmovemore · 31/10/2020 20:46

Slashlover what's your point ?

OP posts:
AwesomeMixTapeVol1 · 31/10/2020 20:47

How about opticians? Or should we go for a motorway drive to get our eyesight checked?

slashlover · 31/10/2020 20:49

Slashlover what's your point ?

Your 'discussion' is just asking questions, several of which were answered in a link posted earlier.

OrinocoGlow · 31/10/2020 20:55

Hi Eatless, I think Boris also said they will be reviewing the situation in the different regions of England before 2 December to decide if the regions go back into tier restrictions or if lockdown will continue. One of the scientific advisors said, if I remember correctly, not to expect things to return to normal on 2 December and restrictions of some kind likely until Spring 2021.

flumposie · 31/10/2020 21:15

Sorry but using words like 'national lockdown ' is an utter joke when schools, universities, construction etc still open. This is less of a lockdown than March.

Wishfulthinkk · 31/10/2020 21:15

Gosh some people are spiteful on here! If you don’t like OPs questions, don’t read the thread, no need to make snipey comments Hmm

nosswith · 31/10/2020 21:16

He didn't do the best thing he could do, which is to resign.

slashlover · 31/10/2020 21:18

And only means England.
