Botox hasn't worked after 10 days

Versace104 · 29/10/2020 19:42

Had it around my crows feet and lines under my eyes, it was a special offer on for £30 (I know). Seem to get bad twitches in my eyes and was informed it would help, but getting rid of the lines was a bonus.
Anyway, 10 days in and no difference at all, but still bruised.
I was told 2 weeks for the full effect, but surely i'd be able to see a difference now to some extent ?

Christ.. I think OP gets the point.. she's new to Botox clearly. Stop bashing her with repeating the same shit over and over at her...

OP I would suggest contacting the Beautician and asking for details on exactly what she injected you with, tell her you're going to your GP with inflamation/whatever and you need the exact script of what was injected. Take that information and decide what you want to do with it, whether it's to complain direct or report to Trading standards.

Good luck Flowers

Why is Kira aesthetics so cheap? Even the juvederm is unusually cheap Hmm

Nikhedonia · 30/10/2020 20:17

*kita

usertemp1010 · 30/10/2020 21:23

Their Facebook page has a pinned post explaining this as they get so many queries about why they are so cheap. They are also Save Face accredited.

Nikhedonia · 30/10/2020 21:33

Hmm, seems very altruistic of them...

Interesting that they can make sufficient profit on those margins.

QueenPaws · 30/10/2020 21:46

@Nikhedonia I've used them for azzalure and Botox. Have a blood condition and a lot of people haven't heard of it. Went to Kita and the doctor asked me what type it was I had, she was great. Place was spotless and didn't feel rushed etc. She even advised me not to have filler due to my blood condition

I pay £300 for 3 areas to reduce my migraines. On the nhs waiting list but for me the cost is worth it in the meantime.

I see an nhs plastic surgeon in his private practice, and he’s excellent. He’s been extremely proactive to assist me in qualifying for nhs treatment so I’m confident he has my best interests at heart. Please never mess with the cheap stuff again. I hope you’re ok!

SickToDeathOfThis · 31/10/2020 07:43

Got to admit I first tried it out of vanity after an ongoing stressful situation carved an angry line between my eyes... it turned out to be the miracle cure for my migraines!

TheVanguardSix · 31/10/2020 07:47

It's your face, OP. Never go cheap when it comes to fillers/botox, ever.
Your dentist or GP surgery is a good option. Usually, one of the partners at your GP surgery will offer a private service offering botox, dentist too (dentist will offer a bit more, like fillers). Of all the people in the world, your GP or dentist will know everything about facial muscles/anatomy. I'd trust them above all.

user1471538283 · 31/10/2020 07:50

It wasnt real botox. I have it regularly and it's at least £200. It should take a couple if days to kick in. You also shouldn't be bruised. Apparently I have strong muscles so it only takes 2 months or so to wear off. Bugger

Rotundandhappy · 31/10/2020 08:03

I get it round my eyes and to relax areas of ‘overexpression’. It’s £220 a time and lasts six months plus. I also get it done by a medic, not a beautician.

£30 is a joke. I’d go back and demand to know what on earth that woman has injected to your face. 😱

userxx · 31/10/2020 08:06

@SickToDeathOfThis It's a brilliant side effect isn't it!! I'm in GM and under local restrictions botox wasn't allowed, I usually go every 4 months but it was nearer 7 and my god, the migraines returned with force, I was back to weekly ones. I'd advise any migraine sufferers to try it.

PhoneAddict · 31/10/2020 08:27

I'm fairly sure it's against the law to have botox on special offer, so I'd definitely check what it was they injected you with.

shazkevincarrotlover · 31/10/2020 10:15

When some types of "cheaper" botox such as Azzalure are on offer from the pharmaceutical companies a prescriber can buy a bottle in for around £60 cost.
Depending on how much you need for 1 particular patient a bottle can be shared between 2 patients. So it is possible you had Botox. Though you should have had a consultation and signed a consent form of which you should have a copy plus the after care instructions which should contain how much and what products were used as standard. You should always have a follow up appt after 2 weeks.
It doesnt work for everyone and only certain products work on me.We don't use Azzalure as its not as good as the product we use (ours cost in excess of £100 per vial cost) some of our patients get 9/12 mths before they need more others are every 3 mths , bodies break botox down differently.
We review all our patients after 2 weeks and top up if patient isn't happy (free of charge) You pay for the clinicians time as well as the product which is not cheap.
I would never have Botox at a beauticians only by a Dr or Dentist ... not even a nurse period. There is a reason they are trained for 5 years then take extra training for Aesthetics for which they have to have seperate indemnity insurance.
Try not to panic just ask what they used you could also ask to see her qualifications then look up online to see if they are accredited.
It costs money for a reason, Fillers are better than botox for lines around mouth/eye areas but again must be done uber carefully in the eye area. Training companies just want the money , anyone can do a botox course ..... doesnt mean they should be allowed to.
This is why the industry needs regulating it is illegal for anyone other than a dentist to do teeth whitening but it doesn't stop beauticians offering it Hmm
