Botox hasn't worked after 10 days

Had it around my crows feet and lines under my eyes, it was a special offer on for £30 (I know). Seem to get bad twitches in my eyes and was informed it would help, but getting rid of the lines was a bonus.
Anyway, 10 days in and no difference at all, but still bruised.
I was told 2 weeks for the full effect, but surely i'd be able to see a difference now to some extent ?

OP posts:

Blimey, I hope you're OK op.

LzzyHale · 29/10/2020 20:33

Have you tried taking magnesium tablets? Can sometimes help with eye twitches.

SimoneAndGarfunkel · 29/10/2020 20:38

Honestly I think you should report them

julieandertoninthewarehouse · 29/10/2020 21:25

Wow....as others have said, OP, Botox needs to be prescribed. If this wasn't done, they're breaking the law & should be reported.
Agree with others - see your gp about the eye twitch. And put the 'botox' down to a lucky escape.

CrazyToast · 29/10/2020 21:27

The fine lines don't generally disappear, they shouldn't have led you to expect that. Botox actually relaxes your muscles to the point they no longer contract. This creates a lack of movement which stops more lines forming and stops them showing up through movement. The relaxing can also pull certain areas smooth and if the lines are very very fine they might flatten out. Mostly though, lines need a peel or filler to go away. They don't just fill in themselves, sadly.

Motnight · 29/10/2020 21:45

Good luck, Op.

Brieminewine · 29/10/2020 22:02

If this is true you need to report them to trading standards asap because there’s no way in hell you’ve had Botox for £30!

yawnsvillex · 29/10/2020 22:12

Botox is roughly £100 an area. By either a dentist (knows facial muscles & nerves better than a beautician) or an aesthetics specialist.

First time round for me it did take 3 weeks for full effect.

Equally ... £30 .... give over.

heartshapedfaces · 29/10/2020 22:17

who prescribed it?!

Halliehallie9828 · 29/10/2020 22:23

I’m 3 weeks Since having Botox, it has t taken full effect so I need to go back... but I paid £230!

I always have to go back for a top up as well. The lady I go to was an actual nurse and used to work in The Harley London.

There is no way that’s Botox for £30! Never ever let any old random inject your face.

stopgap · 29/10/2020 22:30

I pay 1k for Botox. That’s 40 units, dispersed throughout my forehead, crows feet and the crepey lines directly beneath the eyes. It kicks in after about a week. I see a top plastic surgeon in NYC. I might see a nurse practitioner at a push, but not a beautician. That’s actually illegal in the States, anyway.

Nikhedonia · 30/10/2020 09:52

Well, OP you know it was a mistake, now is the time find out the brand name of what they put in you and speak to a Drre: the eye twitching. I'd actually report them, if you didn't see/speak to the prescribing Dr beforehand.

ErickBroch · 30/10/2020 10:00

It is absolutely not Botox. No less than £100 for Botox. Go to someone who is a doctor! I do.

wink1970 · 30/10/2020 10:10

Whilst echoing the PP points about the price, and prescription, I will also add that Botox didn't "take" for me either - apparently a small percentage just don't get on with it. I simply had a headache for 3 weeks then nothing.

(mine was £500 with a well-known aesthetics doctor, so an expensive way to find out!).

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 30/10/2020 11:58

Can someone who has proper botox post a before and after photo please?
I'm interested in the eye area, I've noticed when I narrow my eyes my eyebrows really crease as they hood over my eyes if that makes sense? I'm only bloody 39!!

Dozycuntlaters · 30/10/2020 12:02

For £30 that wasn't botox. Why would you inject your face with an unknown poison just because it's cheap. I've had botox a couple of times, the results were pretty quick, so if you can't see a difference after 10 days then you won't see one at all.

MademoiselleDeWinter · 30/10/2020 12:07

Did the twitching stop?

ErickBroch · 30/10/2020 12:20

@EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide i am late 20s and get my '11s' done which is what you described. horrendous frown lines in between my brows - works great! just one area.

Brunt0n · 30/10/2020 12:24

I can’t believe you let someone inject something into your face for less than the cost of a haircut. You’re crazy!
Report them and if anyone emails you saying you’ve inherited 80 million dollars from a Nigerian Prince then delete the email.

Tunnocks34 · 30/10/2020 12:27

Never go to a beautician for Botox. Ever.

I’m sure they a lovely but I wouldn’t let anyone but a medical professional inject my face!

Botox hasn't worked after 10 days
usertemp1010 · 30/10/2020 15:04

£30 is cheap but I know somewhere incredibly popular (in the north) run by nurses and a nurse prescriber which is £49 per area. Their reason is that they use so much and they have a good relationship with the supplier. I have researched and they are absolutely legit. I'm just mentioning that as Botox doesn't need to cost as much as it does as most places. That said, I've never seen it as cheap as £30! Hope you get on ok op. In the first instance I'd go back to where you got it from, ask for more info about what they used and then ask why it's not worked.

QueenPaws · 30/10/2020 15:28

@usertemp1010 Kita?

MLMbotsgoaway · 30/10/2020 15:32

Right ignoring the £30 almost always with Botox you get a follow up “top up appointment” if needed after two weeks. Check whether this is the case here.
