To think it's ridiculous putting your Xmas tree up this early?

I understand we've had a shit year this year, but I wouldn't dream of putting my Christmas tree up in October. I have a friend who has taken down the Halloween decorations and has now put the tree up. It hasn't even been Halloween yet? Hmm

What is getting me through this time at the moment is knowing that in just over a month it will actually be time to put the tree up and I'm really looking towards to getting new decorations and doing so.

AIBU here?

@Beachhuts90

I love Christmas but am American and I don't know anyone who puts up their decorations before Thanksgiving. Having that holiday right there really marks the start of the season. (It makes me despair you have imported Black Friday and not the lovely family dinner the day before here!)
I think that's the difference. The last bank holiday is August, then Halloween and Bonfire Night then Christmas. It's a long bleak gap

YABU imo. I don't give a shit when other people put their decorations up.
I don't have to live there. If they want to keep them up year round I couldn't muster up the tiniest fuck.

I love Christmas, my decs go up the first weekend in Dec. That is plenty early enough! Lots of lovely autumnal events to celebrate first. They definitely should not be up before Halloween and Fireworks Night!

There were Christmas films on Channel 5 yesterday afternoon - I had to do a double-take to believe what I was seeing!
