Looking for some inspiration! Seem to go to work, have dinner with my partner then just collapse on the sofa! Feel like I should be making most of my spare time more!

I've shown dogs since I was a kid, now my DC and DH are involved too Smile

SionnachRua · 24/10/2020 14:31

That is a hell of a combination!

I know this is prob not what you meant but I just imagined trying to do both things simultaneously Grin Needles everywhere!

Bwlch · 24/10/2020 14:34

I want to paddle board but it's such a huge initial outlay

I've done a fair bit of that. I have family who are heavily into it so it doesn't cost me anything.

lastqueenofscotland · 24/10/2020 14:37

I’m a half decent distance runner
I’ve got a real passion for retraining ex racehorses, got a lovely young filly at the moment who is going to be the most smashing riding club all rounder once she’s more confident out hacking.
I try and do 10/15 mins of yoga a day
I like reading
I’m a half decent cook so do a fair bit of that
I’m from the highlands which fostered a love of hiking/hillwalking so I enjoy that when I get a chance but I’ve totally lost my bottle with scrambling in the last couple of years which has limited some of my favourite routes

JufusMum · 24/10/2020 14:38

Amateur Dramatics group
I also manage an unsigned indie pop band

Soundbyte · 24/10/2020 14:44

Reading, cooking, running and growing my own food at the allotment. I’m currently doing an online sewing course and am just about to start wine making. Other more general stuff like music, films etc.

Ijustneed · 24/10/2020 14:48

@lastqueenofscotland I thought you'd said your hobby is retraining your ex! Grin

Scrolling through Rightmove Blush

NCdforhobbytalk · 24/10/2020 15:50

I make veggies go off😁
But good off. I ferment stuff. If that counts as a hobby

devildeepbluesea · 24/10/2020 15:58

Exercise mainly. I teach a few classes and do more as a participant. Am trying my best to do bodybalance 3-4 times a week. It's basically yoga with music but I like it better. Bought a bike over the summer, am enjoying pootling about on that.

I go through phases with it, but I make jewellery by beadweaving. It's very professional looking and I've sold a lot in the past, but it's feast or famine. I haven't picked up my beading needle for months.

I am a bit addicted to Super Hanjie puzzles too.

DriftGames · 24/10/2020 16:07

I drift cars (username shock) and off road/green lane.

SimonJT · 24/10/2020 18:01

I like my hobbies for different things.

I love everything about rugby, the training, tactics, teamwork, playing and being part of a community.

Piano, I love learning and playing new pieces, I also enjoy singing along very very badly.

oldmotherriley · 24/10/2020 18:13

Tango. Came to it late - previously I wouldn't have danced if I was drunk at a Irish wedding - but - after a slow start - and to my great surprise discovered I had a talent for dance. Since when, I've participated in tango events in 27 European countries, and Argentina.

mummyplusbump · 24/10/2020 18:41

Metal detecting, Mudlarking, fossil hunting

Ohfrigginghellers · 24/10/2020 18:43

@JufusMum are you still able to do your amateur dramatics group?

JufusMum · 24/10/2020 21:18

@Ohfrigginghellers not actually rehearsing, but we meet socially distanced to read through potential scripts for next year.

Twofurrycatsagain · 24/10/2020 21:33

Swimming, walking, reading, playing the piano.
Jigsaws - but defending the jigsaw from the cat probably takes up more time than the jigsaw.

SabrinaThwaite · 24/10/2020 21:40

Golf - just to balance out the old rich white male demographic.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 24/10/2020 21:44

Mixed bag here:
Yoga
Gym (weights)
Pole dancing
Aerial hoop
Knitting
Bookclub

MagnoliaXYZ · 24/10/2020 23:00

Reading
Gardening, especially growing my own fruit and veg. I enjoy making preserves with my own produce
Cooking & baking, I love having friends and family around normally for lunch or dinner
Swimming
I do a bit of knitting and crocheting (it's more teaching my mum and correcting her mistakes - she can't follow YouTube tutorials so I have to teach myself so I can teach her) but I do occasionally opt to do a bit for myself.

I would love to learn an instrument or to sing (not sure my neighbours would be happy with either or those!) and learn how to ride a horse. I'd love to learn another language - I was really good at languages in school but I've lost most of it now having not used it much since college. I've also considered yoga as it would be great to be so flexible, but I'm worried I'd end up farting in the middle of a class!

Tigger85 · 24/10/2020 23:18

It used to be cycling, mountain biking and archery but I don't have the time/opportunity to do those with a very small child. Now it is exercising at home (yoga, weights, short runs) and very slowly learning guitar using online courses. Very occasionally I play videogames but it takes away time from exercise and guitar which are more important to me.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 25/10/2020 07:41

@MagnoliaXYZ if it gives you any confidence, I’ve been doing yoga a couple of years and I’ve never farted in class. In fact I think there’s only ever been one fart in class.

tactum · 25/10/2020 08:40
