To spend literally all day on mumsnet?

Day off. Could be being productive, creative, relaxing with good films and books. Planting shit, going for bike ride. Meeting friend.

Nope. Instead I'm eating crisps and hanging around mumsnet and have been since this morning. Cant see myself dragging myself away until about 5pm at which point I'll probably watch some First Dates (making my way through all seasons).

I'm a loser arent I?

I love the literally debate. I remember an episode of word of mouth looking at the etymology, which as the oed link shows, there is some evidence that it was originally used to add emphasis - you have to scroll down a bit to get to that part. But the metaphorical uses are quite early. 17th century I think. So to insist it must be used in a literal way is quite recent and not entirely correct.

Also if you use it for emphasis, you have not inserted it randomly.

Also it’s just words.

I'm on here loads at the moment. It's increased a lot since I deleted the Twitter app. My DH doesn't really mind the "I've been reading on Mumsnet" opener, but I am selective about what he'll find interesting!

I always do manage to find something to read though. I have a bit of a casual rule not to reply to anything over 100 posts as I find the big threads quite repetitive. It's better now that you can filter OP replies only.
