To spend literally all day on mumsnet?

Day off. Could be being productive, creative, relaxing with good films and books. Planting shit, going for bike ride. Meeting friend.

Nope. Instead I'm eating crisps and hanging around mumsnet and have been since this morning. Cant see myself dragging myself away until about 5pm at which point I'll probably watch some First Dates (making my way through all seasons).

I'm a loser arent I?

It's a train wreck. Can't lol away.

maras2 · 21/10/2020 14:18

This is why retirement suits me Smile.
No guilt here. Halo

grassisjeweled · 21/10/2020 14:39

It's fine

MadinMarch · 21/10/2020 14:50

I see quite a few posters that seem to comment on every single thread I'm on whatever time of day it is eg Bluntness so you're not the only one OP.

Poor Bluntness seems to get singled out quite often for one reason or another, usually in a negative way.

Personally, I'm a fan.

Paintedmaypole · 21/10/2020 14:55

YABU but so are therest of us. It's a big waste of time but strangely addictive.

DynamoKev · 21/10/2020 15:08

Me too - I can't give it up but it is literally ruining my life.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 21/10/2020 15:10

@Dawnlassie

So you have been up from midnight until now on mumsnet?
Op said all day, not all night and day
FairFridaythe13th · 21/10/2020 15:11

I pop in and out because I have the attention span of a gnat.

CutToChase · 21/10/2020 15:11

@DynamoKev
Be careful, the literal police will have you for that!

Mumsnet to me is like a multi staged theatre. You can dip in and out of 'plays'. Watch how the person on the stage (the OP) interacts with her audience. You might decide to chip in with your own tuppence worth then move onto the next 'play'; more likely you're just there to watch the dramas unfold.

Given what little else there is to do, I don't judge you.

2bazookas · 21/10/2020 15:37

Yep. Pass the crisps.

Notcontent · 21/10/2020 15:42

Yep, me too, although very inconveniently I have to make time for work and house stuff. 😁

TokyoSushi · 21/10/2020 15:42

I spend a lot of time here. Primarily that's because I'm underutilised in a stable WFH job with unfettered access to the internet! I have to be at my desk to answer video calls.

I do love it though, although sometimes I'll move across to Twitter!

Lollipity · 21/10/2020 15:43

I often use it for downtime. My DH does bring it up as a bit of an addiction and sometimes threatens he will come on here and start a thread "my wife is addicted to Mumsnet, she needs to stop AIBU?"

I have always found other people's opinions really interesting. Twitter, comments on online papers I find massively addictive. FB/insta I go on a handful of times a year, so can take them or leave them.

Sparklingbrook · 21/10/2020 15:49

When I first joined MN I did that a lot. I had a few months off over the summer and I can hardly find any threads to comment on any more. It's been 9 years since I joined though so sometimes I get the feeling that it gets a bit samey. So there is hope!
Haven't seen a good 'shoes on or off' in the house thread since I came back or cat poo in the garden. And COVID has means a lack of 'AIBU to recline my seat on an airplane' threads sadly. Grin

Fishfingersandwichplease · 21/10/2020 15:57

I spent 8 hours watching Say Yes to the Dress once. Days like that are very rare so why not?!

S111n20 · 21/10/2020 15:59

You are not a looser, I would if I could 😂

S111n20 · 21/10/2020 15:59

Loser

Sparklingbrook · 21/10/2020 16:01

I spent 6 hours watching the whole 12 episodes of Normal People a few months ago. I think lockdown has everyone slightly crazy.

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/10/2020 16:02

Im on annual leave this week, so spent most of my time on here. I have been doing other stuff, don't sign out everytime.

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/10/2020 16:05

Some people are pedantic on here lol

orchidsonabudget · 21/10/2020 16:08

I agree with pp who said it's slow moving at the moment
There was another thread which was saying how ppl have little energy for anything except looking at a screen
This is how I feel
Self- Employed and work is slow
Mood is very low
House is a tip
So much else I need to be doing

NiceandCalm · 21/10/2020 16:13

Do you also find yourself telling your significant other about 'problems' on here - as if you were talking about a mate? Or is that just me?

NiceandCalm · 21/10/2020 16:13

God that just made me look really sad, lol.

Sparklingbrook · 21/10/2020 16:18

I tried to when I first joined. Then, and ever since any mention of anything that happens on MN is met with an eye roll and 'well that's clearly bollocks' by my DH. So I stopped. Grin
