Neighbour and driveway AIBU

Our driveways are connected. There is a garage width each side. NDN does not drive. Neighbour has complained to landlord that:

My wingmirror of my car goes over her boundary line.

My kids step over the line onto her drive occasionally they exit the car.

My bin was full of alcohol bottles. (We are both teetotal and it would be none of her business anyway)

She complained that my bin smelt in summer but then complained that I cleaned my bin and the water went over to her driveway and has chipped it?

She complains we brought a too big car (big standard 7 seater and we have 4 kids)

Complains I start my car and leave at 9am for work.

Has she lost the plot. AIBU?

For the record I knew she was a bit precious over it so we deliberately try NOT to even be remotely close to the line...but it's getting ridiculous now, she stares at me every time I go out and now she is moaning to the landlord.

Smile and wave op every time and get your children to join in! It will obviously infuriate her but she'll know her complaints aren't effecting you.

@kursaalflyer

Agree with PP, if your wing mirrors are over how do you get out of the car?

They get out by stepping out of the car and on to the neighbours drive as there isn't a boundary other than a line on the ground. That's one of the neighbours complaints.

We had a drive like this for years. Some people did object to people going on their drives. It was a new build estate with inadequate parking which leads to some people being very difficult. One built a fence between her and her neighbours drive so the neighbour had to get all her dc out of one side of the car as the other side wouldn't open because of the fence.

I would start parking in front of her house, on the road. That will wind her up even more

KarmaStar · 21/10/2020 12:00

Cannot believe pp are saying the batshit lady is correct to be batshit if op possibly has her wing mirror too much over the other side!!😀come on!are you also waiting for your neighbours to park half an inch over a boundary line?😁ok has checked and it wasn't over,but if it was??oh dear.😅

Bloomburger · 21/10/2020 13:12

Don't put shit through her letterbox put it in a lot paper bag so she comes out and stamps on it to extinguish the flames.

No don't do that, just wave and smile every time you see her watching. She's obviously not got the balls to complain to you in person

@romeolovedjulliet

this sounds like 'return to puddle gate' the new block buster movie of the year [if your local cinema is open]
What happened to puddlegate?
RincewindsHat · 21/10/2020 14:41

I mean, you could always park across her drive on the road (as I understand it, it's illegal to block someone from accessing the carriageway, but not illegal to block someone accessing their own drive). That might give her some perspective and stop the incessant unreasonable complaints when you go back to parking on your own drive with a wing mirror that may or may not overhang her side of the empty, unused drive...

rhymes 'puddlegate' was a very saga about a woman residing next to a bat shit neighbour and her equally bat shit family. everyone became invested in it and, wait for it, it turned out to be a troll, she also did a thread 'alphabet street' another troll effort but very convincing though.

Sunnydaysstillhere · 22/10/2020 12:04

Omg troll?? Buggar!!

VinylDetective · 22/10/2020 12:05

@Zeebeezee

My wing mirrors fold in, if I need to do that.

If your car is similar, just do it, and crack on. Ignore everything else she says. IGNORE.

This.

I did suspect... alphabet street was a phenomenal production, who has the time??

My dad had a neighbour like this .
She was always phoning the letting agent with some imagined slight my dad had made against her .
Nothing solved it until she moved ,sadly .
Dad ignored her but I’d always give her an enthusiastic wave and a “alright ,love?”
She’d recoil from her net curtain..
