My husband wants to bin these

I've tried to sell them but no one is interested. Cost us almost £50 from Amazon

My son is now on prescribed milk neocate so we don't need these anymore. All well in date and sealed apart from one opened box (the actual bags still unopened)

So I've tried to give away for free. On Facebook pages and marketplace. No one is interested!

My husband says as we cannot give away even for free he's binning them

IBU - husband should bin them
INBU - keep trying to find someone to give for free

Freecycle

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 18/10/2020 17:15

Contact your HV to see if they can take it or suggest someone who can.

Our local food bank takes formula. The volunteer I spoke to said there had been some debate but common sense had won out.

Howlooseisyourgoose · 18/10/2020 17:20

Just leave them outside, never fails for me.

Jobseeker19 · 18/10/2020 17:22

I read before that you can bake the milk in cake recipes.

FreezerBird · 18/10/2020 17:22

I'm not familiar with this particular product but the 'anti-reflux' branding might give us pause if it was donated to the foodbank I volunteer for - we don't accept anything which could be described as medication.

You could try skiggle.co.uk which is a site which puts people in touch with each other to redistribute surplus 'care products' such as specialist feeding equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if your stuff was of use to a tube feeding family so it might be worth a try.

Download the Olio app and put it on there

PastelPompoms · 18/10/2020 17:25

Donate to a local homeless /women’s shelter or give to a local children’s centre.

princesspuds2004 · 18/10/2020 17:26

There is a group called Smiggle who accepts various things for disabled and SN kids, maybe try them ? They are also on Facebook as well.

Howlooseisyourgoose · 18/10/2020 17:37

Ooh Olio is a great idea. I have the app and lots of random food items get sold.

Howlooseisyourgoose · 18/10/2020 17:37

Sorry, not sold given away.

Helenluvsrob · 18/10/2020 17:41

Perversely we’ve had better luck charging a minimal amount on eBay / Gumtree vs trying to freecycke stuff

Benjispruce2 · 18/10/2020 17:48

Food bank?

AldiAisleofCrap · 18/10/2020 17:55

@Missandra my local one is definitely Trussel trust , that’s good to know that some do accept formula I assumed it was all TT food banks.

Movinghousewoes99 · 18/10/2020 17:58

Our local church food bank takes baby milk

Jellytottheif · 18/10/2020 18:33

Try a food bank. Or perhaps someone you know. I did not formula feed but I wouldn’t use it. People are naturally precious over their babies....
