To think fussy people ordering coffee should always be in a separate queue

Drives me mad. I just want to buy a sandwich, and in front of me is someone ordering 4 coffees with very exacting requirements.

Ahhhh capital letters runs awaaaay sometimes I just order herbal tea because I can’t be arsed with my own allergies

Took an extra 3 seconds to say at the most. And I then get a coffee how I like it - big mug, lots of caffeine, not much froth.

I think it's not so much the drink preparation time that takes ages, it's the faffy type of customer who might buy a 'special' drink that takes ages asking questions and changing their mind. That type usually gets totally fawned over by the counter assistants though.

Now that sounds like what I'm looking for, well medium size and full fat milk. Is the phrase 'wet latte' universally known in coffee shops or will they look at me like I've got two heads?

I don’t frequent coffee shops. Cant be arsed with those ordering anything but a white coffee. So i avoid and just drink it at home.

So I need to practice asking for a wet extra hot medium latte with an extra shot. Oh dear, I'm at risk of turning into the type of person the OP was complaining about.

I've stopped getting hot chocolate out because even if I ask for extra hot, it never is, and my fantasy about a leisurely sit down while I sip my hot chocolate is never realised because I have to drink it straight away before it's too cold for to be enjoyable.

Y'all need to get a coffee at the Co op. It's always scorching hot. Takes ages to make then forever to drink. You don't go if you're in a rush

But what is a normal cup of coffee? Espresso, instant, filter? Milk, none, foam? Sugar?

It seems a bit arrogant to assume the way you have your coffee is the "normal" way and coffee shop staff should know this.

Caffeinated or decaf I get, milk choices I get. But I always breath a sigh of relief when the person in front says tea... involves no measuring out, frothing, sprinkles, debates...

You seem to be under the impression that using “get” alone means the same as “get myself”. It doesn’t so you can relax now if you hear someone use it. I assume you understand what is meant by “what did you get for Christmas” so you can apply that understanding here if it helps you.

Slightly off topic but related. What exactly is instant coffee? It's not ground up coffee beans as it dissolves completely into nothing.

I always just pick whichever coffee sounds like it will give you diabeties
