Parking

I know I’ll get shot down for this but ..
we have lived in our house for eleven years and my husband has always parked his works van across from our house. We have one car in our driveway which only takes one car. Next door has room for two cars in their drive. Since the son has passed his test, with his car and his girlfriends car, they are parking we’re my husband has parked for years. They always make sure their is a car parked in the space across the road so my dh can’t park his works van there. So they have three cars including mum and dads. I know there is nothing we can do about it as the parking space across the road is for everyone. I’m just having a rant as they are cheeky fuckers. The girlfriend parks in the space every bloody night and she dosent even live in the street. My dh has to park the van wherever. With all his work tools in it. He can’t see the van from the house now. Grrrrrr

I just think it’s bloody cheeky that the girlfriend who dosent live in the bloody area park in the space.

I love this thread Grin

I'm guessing that you and darling partner go out in your vehicles, drive them round and round to take in the scenery, and then come back and park them at home. Clearly you would not consider stopping and parking somewhere you don't live!

I imagine the op has got over in the last 8 months since she started this thread!

While no-one is essentially unreasonable and you know you are not entitled to that space, neither is anyone, it is first come first served so:

Are you home before the space is taken? If so just park your car there and leave the drive available for dh. They can't complain anymore than they can so just make sure you grab it whenever possible.

Oh no! Zombie 🧟‍♂️ dammit

Oh I hope she comes back to update. All sorts of drama could have happened in the last 8 months. Is the girlfriend still a girlfriend? Has the other neighbours house plant died due to lack of light? Are the tools ok? So many cliff hangersGrin
jessyjo2 · 12/07/2021 22:17

We are now 8 months later. Maybe at this stage girlfriend has left boyfriend. Parking problems sorted, she no longer calls round!!!

Disfordarkchocolate · 12/07/2021 22:42

I would secretly hate you for parking your works van outside my house for years. In fact I would probably encourage anyone with a car to park there to stop you doing it.

MurielSpriggs · 12/07/2021 23:24

The obvious solution is to park the van on the drive. But something about neighbour ...

hellogem · 12/07/2021 23:37

Let it block the neighbours view, why are you so concerned about her view. If she says anything, tell her straight as the spot across the road is taken by them you dh has to park on the drive for security reasons, she's more than welcome to give your spot back

hellogem · 12/07/2021 23:40

Omg this is a old thread 😂😂 the person who revived it, what exactly were you searching for ??

HalzTangz · 12/07/2021 23:50

Are you home during the day, could you not park where your husband parks as your husband park on the drive

Apparently there is some problem with blocking the neighbour's light.
