She has an oversized button stitched on the outside of her frock, at the back, where it rides up above her nappy....

Why is this terrifying? Its not a real child. Its not even a toy doll. Its a collectors item

1Morewineplease · 14/10/2020 22:02

Oh my days! 🙄

Toothsil · 14/10/2020 22:02

I'm confused. I don't get what's terrifying about it.

Hippopotas · 14/10/2020 22:20

My mum used to have this porcelain doll

fortran · 14/10/2020 22:55

The button is terrifying?

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 14/10/2020 22:58

What?

Gazelda · 14/10/2020 23:07

Her right hand looks a little oversized.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 14/10/2020 23:09

It has a very grown up face.

Twillow · 14/10/2020 23:12

Looks a lot like Theresa May (neck up, obs!)

sunnysidegold · 14/10/2020 23:12

It's a bit like Sandi toksvig

Didlum · 14/10/2020 23:12

I'm not sure what you mean about the button? Is that the bit you don't like or do you just mean the doll looks creepy generally?

IfIHadAHeart · 14/10/2020 23:13

Dolls in general terrify me. This one has a sinister face.

Onacleardayyoucansee · 14/10/2020 23:18

YANBU.
I too thought the doll has a wan old looking face.

Changing topic slightly, TV Choice advertises a variety of tat on the back each week.
This week is a porcelain cat dressed as a Teddy bear entitled "the long arm of the paw"
Grin

AibuTellMe · 14/10/2020 23:19

Those dolls are terrifying OP i agree. Those real life dolls are creepy as anything.

seriouslynotserious · 14/10/2020 23:21

I was working in retail when I was a student in a where I had a lady that approached me carrying one of these in a sling, asking me where the baby change was. That was terrifying. Poor woman though, I wonder what she went through that led her to be like that :(

Doubleyikes · 14/10/2020 23:44

What’s the terrifying bit OP? The doll in general or the button on the frock. Or both? I can’t say I’m a fan and It is creepy looking

breadbins · 14/10/2020 23:47

I'm with you OP

Leaannb · 14/10/2020 23:48

@Hippopotas

My mum used to have this porcelain doll
Its a shame she still doesn't. Its worth quite a bit.
LomasLongstrider · 14/10/2020 23:51

These sorts of dolls freak me out too op. My sister collected them and had shelves and shelves of them in her room. I hated going in there as I felt like they were watching me...

pigsDOfly · 14/10/2020 23:51

Certainly wouldn't want it in my house, horrible and very creepy but I'm not getting the bit about the button.

BLASTPROCESSING · 14/10/2020 23:54

I hope that porcelain doll doesn't choke or anything on that button.

BreconBeBuggered · 15/10/2020 00:00

She looks like my old French teacher.

Jozen · 15/10/2020 00:01

What button? And why is it terrifying? Confused

Cauterize · 15/10/2020 00:02

I don't understand the relevance of the button, but it's an evil looking thing nonetheless!

Justifiedandquiteold · 15/10/2020 00:16

Terrifying. Kill it with fire 🔥
