Or TV

Mine is

movie - Kevin Costner shouting "We all pee the same color!" in Hidden Figures

TV - Daenerys crowdsurfing on slaves in Game of Thrones

The whole storyline of Avatar could have been fine tuned, in my opinion...the whole nonsense with the absurdly named Unobtanium and the cartoon villain-like colonel.

I know JC was trying to make a point, but man alive - did he have to use a cricket bat to deliver it??

Good CGI, though.

Nocaloriesinchocolate · 15/10/2020 12:12

in the Crown, whenever there's a scene when HM is getting ready for bed - she never has a wash or cleans her teeth. It's undressed, into nightie and straight into bed

Kolsch · 15/10/2020 12:27

Any film featuring a woman going into unexpected labour.
First twinge has her full on screaming and bending double.
The next scene shows her laid all serene with her make up still perfect and an amazingly clean baby in her arms without a drop of blood or midwife to be seen.
Or
Good guy causes death and destruction. Half the country's police turn up at the end, sometimes with the military in tow and pat him on the back. No questions asked.
Strangely, despite all the death, destruction and general mayhem going on, no one thought to call the police for at least 90 minutes.

LunaNorth · 15/10/2020 12:45

Matt Damon was the conker. Pinging about on the end of a massive cable, trying to land in a moving spaceship.

Ludicrous.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 15/10/2020 12:53

@ShelbyCherryBlossom

We can all agree the "teenagers" in Grease were fooling no one.
I watched that quite young and spent a long time believing you had to be in your 30s to go to high school in America Blush
PenguindreamsofDraco · 15/10/2020 13:10

@Kokeshi123

Wasn't there a character in Neighbours who gave birth with her tights on?
In one of the Sharknado films, Tara Reid gives birth, IIRC, whilst wearing pants, inside a shark, whilst plummeting through the atmosphere back to earth from space.

She would look on mere tights-birth as the work of amateurs.

BashfulClam · 15/10/2020 14:09

I got told Scorpion was good onNetflix. The first episode they have a commercial airliner flying 50 feet above them whilst they drive underneath at 200 miles an hour. The co-pilot is hanging into the landing gear while the Chuck him a fucking Ethernet cable linked to a laptop. If he can come in that close then just land ffs!

SVRT19674 · 15/10/2020 14:14

Any Nicholas Cage film, cringeworthy!
That James Bond film when he jumps into a flying plane, takes over from the pilot who is chucked out and flies away into the sunset. When I watched this everyone laughed in the cinema, it was pretty bad.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 15/10/2020 14:29

The whole plot in Next where the gorgeous female lead falls in love with the Nicolas Cage character who looks increasingly grubby (in a homeless sort of way rather than a Strider/Aragorn phwoar deal).

Most of the latest film adaptation of The Hobbit where they added in made-up crap to squeeze 3 films out of one short book.

Needhelp101 · 15/10/2020 14:41

*In one of the Sharknado films, Tara Reid gives birth, IIRC, whilst wearing pants, inside a shark, whilst plummeting through the atmosphere back to earth from space.

I now HAVE to watch this.

Needhelp101 · 15/10/2020 14:44

I should add, any film that has a women in bed with a man with her bra on.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 15/10/2020 15:04

Any film where they wake up and immediately have sex, no nipping to the loo and a quick tooth brush first.

PookieHook · 15/10/2020 15:19

Armageddon, where after Bruce Willis has sacrificed himself to explode the meteor and they land back on earth, the captain of the space shuttle says to Bruce Willis' daughter "Permission to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I ever met"
I have never wanted to punch anyone more...

yetanothernamitynamechange · 15/10/2020 15:22

@Needhelp101 OH god this. In particular in the TV show Lucifer where they are supposed to be having orgies etc but everyone mysteriously keeps their underwear on. Its part of a very wierd American (and I suppose also British) attitude towards sex which on the one hand is all "woooo orgies, lots of sex=sexy etc etc etc" but also very anti-nudity.

QuestionableMouse · 15/10/2020 15:24

Some of these make sense though - doubt many people want to watch someone on the loo or brushing their teeth. There's none of that in the hero's journey 😂😂😂

Notimeforaname · 15/10/2020 15:25

The entirety of the film Gymkata. 🤣

Notimeforaname · 15/10/2020 15:26

The trailer alone 🤣

yetanothernamitynamechange · 15/10/2020 15:28

And its not even that I particularly WANT to see nudity. Its just annoying when it shows the lead character waking up entwined with a load of women and you are supposed to think "wow they've all had sex" but THEY ALL HAVE THEIR UNDERWEAR ON. So what on earth actually happened? Or did they have sex and then instantly put their pants and bras back on before falling into a deep post-coital sleep. It annoys me much more than it should.

Notimeforaname · 15/10/2020 15:29

" nobody wins and nobody lives "

GilbertMarkham · 15/10/2020 15:31

the absurdly named Unobtanium

I thought it was perfectly named - it represents anything resource/substance that's in short supply, "precious" and that humans are willing to kill, maim, cause environmental destruction etc for.

GilbertMarkham · 15/10/2020 15:32

*any

Cattenberg · 15/10/2020 15:33

I’ve only seen a bit of Die Hard, but in the bit I did see, a bloke jumped out of a plane without a parachute in order to catch up with a parachutist and fight with him mid-descent Shock.

jazzyroll · 15/10/2020 15:35

@PenguindreamsofDraco I'm glad you mentioned Sharknado. I was going to say every moment of every Sharknado film is ridiculous. I dont know why I kept watching them!

GilbertMarkham · 15/10/2020 15:38

There are so many but when Holly Valance and her backing singers are warming up/singing scales in Taken and Liam Neeson says with apparently total sincerity "Beautiful!".

Like she's singing a few scales as "la, la, .. la,la,la .. la, laaa".

Cringe any time I see it.

That's not even getting onto the happy, cheest, sing with famous pop star experience for his daughter at the end of the film .. while her mate has recently died in a brothel shit hole, drugged up, probably repeatedly raped, looking like she's choked on her own vomit.

But that's ok cause she was the bad, slutty, non virgin girl of the pair, and who would want a down beat end to a film.

GilbertMarkham · 15/10/2020 15:39

*cheesy
