The beards gone....

So “D”P shaved his beard off this evening. He’s had it for at least 5 years.
He looks like a complete stranger.

AIBU to make him sleep in the shed?

That’s it exactly. He doesn’t look like the guy I’ve spent the last 6/7 years with ☹️

Be a long few weeks waiting for it to grow back....

I cried when my dad did this ( I was about 15 and a bit of a drama lama)
He soon grew it back

Men are supposed to have beards! I find clean shaven men really unattractive, even if they are otherwise handsome. My dh sometimes trims it back too far and I don’t like it - it makes his chin look crap and weak and he also looks disconcertingly young. If I moan he looks wounded and says ‘you hate my face’ Grin. I strongly prefer him with a beard.

Just remembered that someone actually said necking on this thread - hoping it was tongue in cheek (realised pun as typing and thought I’d leave it). Necking is a horrible word!

Rexasaurus · 07/10/2020 18:08

He’s been telling me all day that it’s “already growing back”. He sounds a bit hopeful 🤣

My DP likes to vary his beard and hair length so no matter how many times I tell him how fab he looks when he has it the way I like, he still throws the odd curveball. He gets it trimmed/cut every couple of weeks like many black men.

He came to meet me one day having completely shaved off the lot, I almost didn't recognise him. He looked so young that I was waiting to be asked if he was my toyboy. My reaction made it clear I hope that it was a step too far!

Hope your DH's beard grows back quickly, he may not like sleeping in the shed Grin

Mine fell out when I had chemo sadly. I was prepared for the hair falling out. No one mentioned the beard falling out though. My wife won't let me grow it back now. She's got used to it.

VinylDetective · 07/10/2020 19:00

The undertaker asked if they should shave my dad. I was horrified, he wouldn’t have been him without his beard. It was a lovely distinguished white Van Dyke.

Disappointedkoala · 07/10/2020 19:25

My OH has had a beard for 13 years, I'd be distraught if he shaved it off. Plus his face would be two different colours as the lower half hasn't seen the sun in all that time!

ClementineWoolysocks · 07/10/2020 19:32

Don't put him in the shed, think how cold his little face would be!

DisneyMillie · 07/10/2020 19:37

I like a strong jawline in a man. My dh shaved his beard off once early in our relationship and I think it would have been over if he hadn’t grown it straight back -I’d never realised the beard was what gave his face shape. Sounds awful but I just didn’t fancy him without it Blush

SisyphusAndTheRockOfUntidiness · 07/10/2020 19:44

My DH has only shaved his beard off twice in the 17 years we've been together. Once for charity, & once when DD was a baby... she wouldn't go to him until it grew back! He was Sad but I thought it was really funny!

His head hair has migrated over the years though. Beard got much thicker, head hair now pretty thin... Grin

fucknuckle · 07/10/2020 20:02

an ex of mine once shaved his beard off on christmas eve to spite me after a row. i didn’t notice when i came home from the pub but was horrified the next day. he looked like a weedy 12 year old.

i refused to look at him at all for the entirety of christmas. i left him on December 28th.

beards: Serious Business.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Even more so as the weathers turned really chilly here over the last couple of days.

He normally goes to the barbers every month or so to get it trimmed. He needs a haircut as well. Can only imagine the grief the barbers going to give him
