To think drive through click and collect is marvellous

Boring I know, but due to deliveries all but drying up where I am, tried click and collect from Asda yesterday.
Literally ordered at 12pm, drive up at 3pm - with shopping all bought to car as I arrived. Bloody amazing

the shops are not near to me, unless i am at work, and it takes me further away from home, so not ideal

It's even better at Tesco you don't even have to get out of the car because they load it all in the boot for you!

I used Sainsbury's for click and collect earlier in the year, I was shopping for mother as well, you can book two back to back slots so I was able to pick up two separate shops at the same time. Excellent service except the fruit and veg was dire, my local Sainsbury's is the worst supermarket locally for fresh produce anyway.

Our local Sainsbury's had no click and collect until this year but have set up an van in to corner of the car park to collect from. Its been free for the time slots I have chosen and its been a lifesaver for my weekly shop ever since to save having to queue outside in the cold or take a delivery spot. Probably use less fuel in car to collect it than the cost of a home delivery.

I wish I could get my head round it but for some reason food shopping online makes me really angry and stroppy so subsequently I can rarely finish the order.

What about those who do not have a car, some for medical reasons? Or the idea of planning a day or two ahead?

Confused

Well then they won’t book this service, will they?

We have been using Sainsbury's click and collect since about May. Its bern so useful.

While you can't collect yourself if self isolating someone else could collect on your behalf which is useful.

Flipflophurray · 04/10/2020 13:59

@notso I think maybe it depends on how you shop “in real life”. If you like to browse etc it’s not so great. Sometimes I just want to walk into the supermarket and “be inspired” and online wouldn’t work for that.

I like Tesco click and collect, you don’t even get out your car. The lovely young lads open your boot and fill it whilst you just sit in your car!
