To ask you to recommend me a large, thick, warm blanket?

Shamelessly posting for traffic!

My house gets pretty cold in winter. I want a lovely, thick, heavy blanket to wrap myself up in on the sofa. All the ones in the shops seem to be a bit thin and plastic-y, and not big enough!

So, lovely people of Mumsnet, can you hit me with your blanket recommendations?

Costco does some great throws and blankets, very cheap too.
I bought a wool Witney blanket but found it too itchy so it's now gracing the dog's armchair. Ddog loves it 😂

Why not just get an Oodie type thing then you never have to get up from under the blanket as you’re wearing it!

I have an Unhide Lil Marsh which I love unhide.us/collections/our-collection

DM bought the giant one of these from Dunelm & DD loves it so much she got one as well. Incredibly warm & soft BUT she'd everywhere...

I have a Sherpa blanket at home. Smooth on one side, and gorgeous bobbly fleecyness on the other!
If something ever happened to it, I can't tell you how gutted I would be Grin It's my sofa/TV companion.
It was a present, but I think it came from B&M originally.

My DH got me a Rumpl blanket which I love! Seemingly not cheap (I've just googled), but amazing!

Some gorgeous throws at National Trust shops - I was drooling over them on holiday, but have a smelly arse-licking dog who'd ruin it in an instant! Not overly expensive, plus you get that smug glow from buying from a charity Grin

Cozee home bedding and their lovely thick blankets from qvc are lovely, soft and warm.
The bedding in particular is absolutely fantastic.

If you or anyone you know is a Costco member they do some gorgeous warm lightweight fleecey throws. Not too pricey either. This one is £17.99 online including delivery. Cheaper instore at around £14 (I think).

Omg wool blankets would get my sensory issues in a tizzy, has to be sherpa/fleece for me Grin

Dunelm ones are great! We end up using old baby blankets regularly - kept a few for playing with dolls/forts etc, and they usually end up as lap blankets in the evening Smile. Most of them were presents/hand me downs, but TKMaxx is always good for a blanket.
