Iv voted left wing but I feel more people tend to keep right wing views to themselves, not just in this site on but in everyday life. We have a stigma in this country around being right wing. The far left are just as bad as the far right, yet they don’t have the same stigma attached.

@Onpause

Yup, and it's worrying
What, you might get your mind changed? Shame.

I agree that you need to define the terms "left" and "right". Given that we live in a time when believing that women are female makes you an alt right white supremacist nazi, or where questioning whether capitalism is the best system to generate equality across society makes you a far left pro communism political extremist, I think the terms left and right are almost meaningless nowadays accept as insults or threats. We also live in a world where people seem to think that an idea or policy is left or right depending on which party is endorsing it, rather than thinking that a party is left or right based on which ideas and policies they are endorsing. So certain ideas are deemed left wing just because the Labour Party promotes them, with no understanding of the theory behind what makes an idea "left" to begin with.

I think the lefties as usual try and shut down everyone else’s views by shouting them down. This is why the vocal minority of rabid lefties make it look like the left have taken over. Even worse is the fact they hijack causes like BLM and terms like progressive while pushing the Marxist agenda.

There is a spectrum of wings.

Is it on the left wing up at the tip, somewhere near the engines, or in the cockpit trying to figure out who the pilot is...

It's always been a left-leaning site.

Less so these days, I think, but still leftie.

BoingBoingyBoing · 03/10/2020 09:47

Not even remotely.

Still vaguely left-wing.
