I hope that the President of the US recovers quickly because of the disruption that may be caused if he dies.

I also hope that anyone suffering with COVID-19, anywhere in the world, but without access to the care and treatment that Donald Trump has recovers quickly.

Just watching the update from the hospital. His personal physician introduced the team who are looking after him - 9 people! They said he hasn't needed oxygen so far, and is doing well. Looks like his chances of recovery are good. I know this news will be met with mixed feelings, but whatever his failings it is good news for his family and means the election will probably still go ahead.

I won’t be praying for them (I’m not religious) but I hope they make a full recovery. I wouldn’t wish death on anyone, however much I dislike them as a person!

Different things. If he is ill, he will just delegate the very limited amount of work he actually does. If he dies or is incapacitated even further, someone else will have to take over the presidency.

Good point. The Qanons and the like will be blaming the Democrats, George Soros, Bill Gates, the McCain family - goodness knows what else they will come up with. I remember tweeting to some people on twitter that were making a big deal about it (I mean happy, gloating etc about him getting Covid) that meh, people survive it especially people with his money and white house care, he will be afforded every protection there is. He won't die. There is no upside to this for us, no point reveling in it. He will recover, the election will go ahead. And I worry if he could use it for the sympathy vote.

The thought of him being re-elected terrifies me. And I am a political pessimist, so part of me thinks this could be a distraction that may favourably impact Trump and disadvantage Biden. I feel jittery about this who new Trump covid development. It could play out in any matter of ways.

Being serious, I'm Jewish, and Trump has said some pretty disgusting things about Jews (and if anyone is going to start going 'but [insert left-wing person here] is antisemitic too', please shut up, that is irrelevant), and I don't see why I should pray for someone who hates me.

Also, how many of the people feeling sorry for Trump cheered when RBG died or when Chrissy Teigen lost her baby? Because she was getting dogs' abuse from Trumpers who claimed it was punishment for her being a liberal, or that she'd killed the baby herself.
