@TheJessicaClarke

And in that prayer should we use the phrase is "It is what it is" or leave it out?

Indeed.

Or grab them by the pussy... where does that go in the prayer OP?

WiserOwl · 02/10/2020 17:27

@LizzieMacQueen

I can't quite believe Melania ever got close enough to Trump to catch it. She keeps her distance usually.
This bit puzzles me too
UntamedWisteria · 02/10/2020 17:27

You mean the OP isn't being ironic?

CottonSock · 02/10/2020 17:27

This thread has cheered me right up. I have never before felt such hatred to another human.
When Boris had it, I was slightly alarmed. Can't see me feeling the same way about trump.

newnameforthis123 · 02/10/2020 17:30

Really think about that OP.

Imagine a man talking about your daughter and her friends. Saying that because he is rich, he can "grab them by the pussy", do what he likes. Would you still pray for him then?

Seriously, if it was your daughters affected by it would you pray for him?

If it was your disabled child he mocked on stage in front of thousands of laughing, jeering spectators? Would you pray for him?

Really?

Anyone who so vocally requests support for Trump today is either a hypocrite, a bully or goading for a reaction.

Nobody decent thinks this man is decent. Nobody decent thinks that of all the issues in all the world today, requesting people pray for a sexist, racist, misogynist is the thing they want to fight for.

He's human. So are serial killers. And rapists etc. Do I pray for them? Of course I fucking don't. He had every privilege a human could have and he chose greed, misogyny and bullying.

He's on his own now.

I don't believe in god but if I did I would hope he'd be distancing himself pretty fucking quickly from Trump.

CSIblonde · 02/10/2020 17:32

Pray? I'm laughing, because I can already envisage the bluster & turn around on the gibberish he's been spouting on Covid for months .

SourcePlease · 02/10/2020 17:34

I didn't believe in God until Trump got Covid. Now I'm thinking maybe a God DOES exist after all!

DBML · 02/10/2020 17:34

I wouldn’t wish serious illness on anyone.

zoomzoghedgehog · 02/10/2020 17:35

He should try his own advice but ingesting bleach...

intheenddoesitreallymatter · 02/10/2020 17:36

@TheJessicaClarke

They’re human beings for God’s sake!
Alton Sterling was human too, and so was Stephon Clark and George Floyd and Brianna Taylor and Elijah McClain and all the other 661 members of the public who have been shot by American police since 2017. Innumerate numbers of them having their deaths unrecognised by their president who owes them accountability. They couldn't breathe, maybe it's time Donald Trump knows what that feels like.

Or what about his sexual assualt victims? Ivana Trump was human too, so was Jill Harth and E. Jean Carroll and Summer Zervos and Alva Johnson and Jessica Leeds and Kristin Anderson and Lisa Boyne and Cathy Heller and Temple Taggart McDowell and Amy Dorris and Karena Virginia and Karen Johnson and Mindy McGillivray and Jennifer Murphy and Rachel Crooks and Natasha Stoynoff and Juliet Huddy and Jessica Drake and Ninni Laaksonen and Cassandra Searles and Mariah Billado and Victoria Hughes and Bridget Sullivan and Tasha Dixon and Samantha Holvey and all the countless other women he's sexually assaulted or exploited who haven't come forward because they've been too afraid.

That is not counting the victims who were raped or exploited or who simply disappeared or who starved or who were beaten to death or who killed themselves because they felt so helpless or those who were murdered and who never saw justice thanks to Donald Trump and his policies of Making America Great Again.

You talk of religion OP, perhaps keep your prayers and go back to the bible for a refresher course in Christianity and Humanity. If that's too taxing I've shortlisted a few:

Proverbs 31:8-9 (NIV)
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Deuteronomy 16:20 (NIV)
“Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you.”

Job 5:15-16 (NIV)
“He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth; he saves them from the clutches of the powerful. So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.”

Psalm 41:1 (NIV)
“Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the LORD delivers them in times of trouble.”

Psalm 50:6 (NIV)
“And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice.”

Donald Trump does not deserve your prayers. His victims do.

KizzyWayfarer · 02/10/2020 17:37

If I believed in a god, I would pray for Trump to recover in order (the reality important bit) to be utterly humiliated at the polls in November.
I would also pray for the traumatised children put in cages and separated from their families.
Unfortunately I’m not religious so will just have to hope desperately that him and the craven, corrupt Republican Party get kicked out.

Imissmoominmama · 02/10/2020 17:49

Well whaddayaknow- Trump is a MNetter!

Anniegetyourgun · 02/10/2020 17:51

I find this thread disgusting.

My comment got deleted from another thread on this subject this morning because it kind of implied (in a jokey way) that maybe I wasn't sorry the orange one might die. And here's a whole thread full of people saying similar and not a one of them deleted. 'Tain't fair. Angry

p.s. I'm not nice enough to hope for his recovery, so I'll just pray for God to forgive me for not caring enough, if that counts.

DetectiveRandySomething · 02/10/2020 17:54

He didn't get the majority vote, just sayin.

TheJessicaClarke · 02/10/2020 17:54

2 wrongs don’t make a right 🤷‍♀️

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 02/10/2020 17:55

There are 205,000 American families already grieving loved ones so all my thoughts and prayers are busy right now, sadly.

They'll have to wait.

shamalidacdak · 02/10/2020 17:58

Lol

You can use that emoji now but have you actually thought properly about what you've said when starting this thread?

Imagine a man talking about your daughter and her friends. Saying that because he is rich, he can "grab them by the pussy", do what he likes. Would you still pray for him then?

Seriously, if it was your daughters affected by it would you pray for him?

If it was your disabled child he mocked on stage in front of thousands of laughing, jeering spectators? Would you pray for him?

Or more importantly, would you ask others to?

I'm genuinely interested as to your thoughts on what I've said. I suspect you'll organise it but it would probably do you good to think about it.

ChaToilLeam · 02/10/2020 18:01

I don’t pray, but in the unlikely event that I started, he would be right at the bottom of my list.

I do however wish that he gets everything he deserves.

6PEOPLEONLY · 02/10/2020 18:01

YABU. He's an absolute wanker.

ValidUser · 02/10/2020 18:02

Wouldn't say no to a packet of wotsits right now.

DontBeShelfish · 02/10/2020 18:04

@Gancanny I love that.

tinytemper66 · 02/10/2020 18:05

I want him to recover and then go to prison...so will pray for that!

SurreyHillsGirl · 02/10/2020 18:06
Grin

Good one OP

I have one word for you. Schadenfreude.
