Shouted at in Lidl

This morning I went to Lidl, I had a large trolley full and queued up behind a lady. I didn't put anything on the belt and kept back.
An elderly gentleman was behind me with 3 or 4 items in a basket. He had a walking stick so I asked him if he wanted to go in front of me. He thanked me and put his shopping on the belt.
He was at least a metre away from the lady and we all had masks on.
Well, the woman went ballistic, shouting at us and wagging her finger shouting at us to keep away and dont we know theres a virus about and it's not funny etc etc.
I'm afraid I shouted back saying if shes that worried maybe get her shopping delivered.
I felt so sorry for the gent, he didnt know what had hit him.

How are things in your bunker?

A bunker wouldn't do any good- didn't you know the lizard people come from underground.

I'm picturing PP up a tree somewhere wearing a tinfoil hat and a poncho.

I’m genuinely amazed at all the apologists for shouty woman. It’s NEVER acceptable to shout in this situation. I’ve been in a queue where someone was a FOOT behind me and I didn’t shout at them. You never know why the person behind you isn’t observing the distance so you ask them politely!

@jwpetal yes the lidl checkouts are long, so he was probably over a meter away from her.
I don't know if there is a rule about putting your shopping on the conveyor belt, I think the man was too scared to put his shopping on until she had gone!

Wrong Drizzle,
I t has everything to do with America. Because coronavirus was first developed in a lab in North Carolina then shipped to a level4 weapons lab in Winnipeg , Canada .Trump then ordered it sent to a a lab in Wuhan ,China where it was inadvertently released by a careless worker.This account coming from a member of your Parliament. Dude , don't shoot the messenger because you can't fathom the message.

@Zyzxyz no even the babbling bullshit your talking was true (it’s not)

This indent DID NOT HAPPEN IN AMERICA it has NOTHING TO DO WITH AMERICA

I might argue it has nothing to do with the virus

It has everything to do with a vile middle aged woman on a power trip shouting at a older gentleman because she could

Nothing to do with America

RizzleDrizzle, I guess I have to spell it out for you.If the coronavirus was never cooked up in a North Carolina lab and subsequently released in Wuhan China then the middle aged woman at Lidl would'nt have screamed at the man to keep 6 feet away. Do you understand now?

Report
RizzleDrizzle · 03/10/2020 11:09

@Zyzxyz

Oh she would! Oh she most definitely would because

She’s a vile middle age woman on a power trip

She would have shouted at him if there was no virus or a reinfection of the sodding bubonic plaque

Hope this helps

Worst thing I saw was in an almost empty shopping precinct at about 7pm. I was waiting outside the chip shop for my order when a woman came past with a child about 2 years old, the child was running backwards and forwards to her but not withing 5 metres of anyone( the child was also wearing a mask) the woman proceeded to scream at the top of her voice at the child to stay away from the people they are dirty and have germs.

Two meter social distancing is the rule, not one. With or without mask it's only one if two is not possible. The lady could have been more polite I agree. No need to be nasty! I honestly thought that this virus would bring out the best in people, oh how wrong I was. As for the lady with wonky mask she was wearing one it may not have been perfectly fitted but she was wearing one. I hate bullying do gooders, just keep your distance and if someone is obviously disabled or elderly give them extra room because they need to be extra cautious

@RizzleDrizzle

metre isn't very far away though. Our Lidl still keeps to the 2 metre distance at the checkouts

The rule is one metre with masks which is why this lady shouldn’t have shouted at this gentleman

Ah it depends where you live. Shops in my area are sticking to the 2 metres.

In Scotland and England, you are now allowed to socially distance at 'one metre plus', but the advice is still to stick to two metres where you can, to protect yourself from catching coronavirus. In Wales, the advice is to always stick to two metres but in Northern Ireland, one metre social distancing is allowed.

I was shouted at and told to pi** off because I asked a woman politely please not to get too close. I work with people who care for covid patients so I'm the one you need to avoid. Apparently a mask is all you need, poor deluded fish wife!

Report
Ddot · 03/10/2020 11:57

One meter instead of two doubles your chance of catching, so five for me please.

Report
RizzleDrizzle · 03/10/2020 12:03

Well I might argue that 2 metres isn’t enough, given there was a study that showed that arosol particles can travel A LOT FURTHER

but also quite clearly 2 metres weren’t possible as the gentleman was coming in front of OP. The gentleman was Trying to keep the one metre distance between both op and the shouty lady once he’d vacated his place and OP had stepped back in to the two metre distance where he had been stood and he’d moved back in to the place op had previously stood 2 metres would have been resumed wouldn’t it!

No need to shout

@lightsoul

Why are you going there?

It is my closest and most convenient supermarket Confused. None others nearby are that great at social distancing either.

@Zyzxyz.....love your screen name! Do you happen to live somewhere that you travel the I -15 expressway from California to Las Vegas? There is an exit road called similar somewhere along there.
BTW, I think possibly people are becoming unhinged from breathing in their own carbon dioxide from wearing masks all day...I know I feel like I've lost the plot sometimes because the mask makes me feel claustrophobic and hot which causes lots of frustration.
Back to the thread...I cannot even fathom having either Trump or Biden as POTUS, but unfortunately one will be elected.
BTW, the newly elected President won't take office until late January when the swearing-in ceremony takes place...the POTUS now in power will remain in power until that happens, so either way, the present POTUS, FLOTUS, and FFOTUS will be around the Christmas table .Grin

Sweetpea1532 · 03/10/2020 15:45

Also, that period between the election and the swearing in and the POTUS leaving office is when he pardons many criminals from their prison sentences. It is a very busy time for the POTUS
