to ditch the bra?

Been working at home for 6 and a half months, it's pouring with rain today and I thought "fuck it" I'm not going anywhere anyway so have gone the day sans brassiere. I have a tshirt and zipper hoody thing on but still feels a bit decadent...Grin

However there is a bit of me that still thinks that "one has one's standards..." Wink

I ditched mine 6 months ago when I got COVID. Never looked back.

I quite like feeling decadent and get v little opportunity to do that these days. Grin

ScrapThatThen · 30/09/2020 15:35

I've gone the other way and started dressing up again 🤣

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/09/2020 15:36

If I'm dressed then I wear one regardless of what I'm doing etc. I'm not always dressed all day at the weekend but I make the effort for work, especially in case I get pulled into a video call! Today was a fuck it day. I may have another tomorrow.

Yanbu.

I ditch the evil stabby things at every given opportunity.

I went a good three months braless over lock down.

Was sheer bliss.

Frappuccinofan · 30/09/2020 15:38

I practically never wear a bra, I’m flat chested though so don’t need the support. I find that most of the time, the bra ends up being visible through my clothes or uncomfortable etc so it’s just easier going braless. I don’t really see what’s so indecent about that, no one would even notice whether I have one on or not

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/09/2020 15:38

What's prompted that scrap?

mildlymiffed · 30/09/2020 15:39

@WaxOnFeckOff I did exactly the same thing today! And it's very freeing! I was wearing a bra that's a bit diggy, and had a fuck it moment. And took it off. Maybe I'll wear one tomorrow, maybe I won't... whole new world!

Florencex · 30/09/2020 15:40

I find it more uncomfortable to not wear a bra and I do not have a large chest.

Porcupineinwaiting · 30/09/2020 15:40

@ScrapThatThen one of my friends has done the same. With the kids back at school she now gets into work gear, does her face and hair then works in the attic.

RednaxelasLunch · 30/09/2020 15:40

I only wear one to leave the house. On Zoom you really can't tell so.. sorry not sorry.

LST · 30/09/2020 15:41

I haven't worn a bra for yonks. Probably getting on for 12 months. I haven't really got any boobs though.

RainbowHash · 30/09/2020 15:42

I'm glad someone's posted about this. I went braless for a while and loved it, but my problem is with the nipples. I'm relatively small but nipples seem to protrude whatever and I can't work out if that's bad or not? Eg I know it's not really bad, but I'm sure it catches people eye and I feel self-conscious. What do others here think of nipples being obvious through tops?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 30/09/2020 15:43

I wear a proper (but still without wires) bra only when it’s really needed for the outfit to look in place. I only wear bralets or sports bras and have for years. Once the winter comes no bra at all!

PontiacBandit · 30/09/2020 15:43

I hate them, only wear proper underwired bras when dressing up on a night out. I wear soft crop tops most of the time and they are a dream. As a G cup I find it difficult to go fully braless.

2me2u2u2me · 30/09/2020 15:49

I very rarely wear a bra, can't remember last time and would only do so if I had to due to outfit.

@RainbowHash I don't like my nipples showing so I wear nipple pads, they are amazing, quite thick and just stick on so your nipples barely show through anything, I get mine off ebay.

RainbowHash · 30/09/2020 15:50

Ah, brill, thanks 2Me... I wondered if something like that existed. Will be checking them out.

jgjgjgjgjg · 30/09/2020 15:52

Why are so many people routinely wearing bras that are so uncomfortable? If you had one that fitted properly you wouldn't need to ditch it at first opportunity.

thepeopleversuswork · 30/09/2020 15:53

I've never understood why so many people dislike their bras....

Loads of my friends say the first thing they do when they get home is take their bra off.

I feel totally destabilised and weird without one and my boobs hurt. I wear mine in bed.

LST · 30/09/2020 15:54

@jgjgjgjgjg I don't find them uncomfortable. I just don't consider them necessary

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/09/2020 16:05

I don't find them particularly uncomfortable in general but it's definitely comfier without - for the moment.

I'm probably about average (34 C/D) and in my 50s so maybe not as pert after feeding two babies, but not to the point where i need to tuck them in my pants Gin

I'm thinking of investing in generally comfier clothes as i'm still wearing normal non work stuff such as jeans every day and there is no prospect of a return to the office this side of the year.

Thinking of new footwear too, I either have fluffy soft bootee things or I wear trainers if I need a hard sole.

Maybe an online shopping spree with some soft bra type tops is the way to go.

34GG and I'm simply jealous of you flopping about at home!

Mine all fit perfectly, but ooooh the relief when it finally does come off.

Just remember not to go 'without' if you go running :)
TweeBree · 30/09/2020 16:08

I just wear vests with a built-in bra now. Doesn't feel like a bra at all.

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/09/2020 16:10

Just remember not to go 'without' if you go running smile

Thanks for the warning but I think if I went running people would just be staring at the body in road and not really worrying if I had a bra on Grin

I don't think i could go out without one - sure into the back garden with washing or to the bins, But go out the front? maybe not.

Men have nipples, l fail to see why ours are such a big deal.
