To expect her to pay half if she stays?

So I’ve booked a hotel room for one night as a treat. I’ve been with my kids for 6 months straight so I decided to have this one night to be left alone. To have a wine and junk food and relax.

My friend lives in the area and we agreed to meet up for lunch and a drink. She knows the reason for my visit and she said well she might aswell stay over.

I said if she wants to stay she could pay half, she’s now very offended and said I was going to pay regardless. AIBU?

Tell her you wont sleep if shes in the room so if she wants to stay over she will need her own room

I used to have a "friend" like this. Got fed up of her constantly assuming things/situations that would benefit her were up for grabs. She would ask for things/favours but phrased it as though she was doing you a favour by asking. It was really weird. We are no longer in contact.

Christ no, you need that night on your own. Don't even let her stay. I am desperate to do this.

She’ll put the dinner in your hotel bill! Have a night alone, long Bath...

Figgygal · 26/09/2020 18:48

She’s very rude

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 26/09/2020 18:51

Of course she can’t stay. Where will she sleep? She can’t share the bed with you unless she’s in your “bubble”.

Are you two romantically involved? If not could she book her own room?

I used to have a “friend” like that. Haven’t seen her in 25 years, and that’s why.

Tell her to book a room of her own if she wants to stay.
