We rent a house from my parents and moved in just after lockdown. Haven’t had anyone over before.

Walls made of bloody cardboard and a chimney system like a rabbit warren for sound

Quite heated debates over rubbish (brexit) until 3am which I’m now thinking everyone would have heard

Woken up feeling like I can’t show my face. It was all obnoxious rubbish. Neighbours are friends with my folks. Do I apologise?

I live in a mid terrace and we hear the neighbours. A too loud conversation wouldn't bother us. A screaming match probably would. I'd appreciate you acknowledging it and apologising if you mean it. If it's likely to happen every weekend then just accept that they won't like you.

Yes, apologise. Just say it was friends and they can be a bit loud, and you hope it didn't disturb them, that it was a one off. If it was me, I'd appreciate that.

I get the feeling it wasn't the noise level you are most worried about, it's the fact that your neighbours could hear the "obnoxious rubbish" you were all broadcasting in relation to Brexit..
