How do you lose more than 2lbs a week ?!

I've only ever been able to lose 2lb a week and that's with eating a good diet and walking 10,000 steps a day, what am I doing wrong I see loads of people losing 4-5 lbs a week !!

I think of 2lb in weight as 4 blocks of lard! look at 4 blocks of lard - it's a lot!

I would probably track what you eat... you may be consuming more calories then you realise

The ‘water loss’ criticism makes it sound like that’s somehow cheating or deluded.

You lose water on low carb because it’s bound to the glycogen stored in your liver, which your body uses up in the absence of glucose from bread/potatoes/pasta/sweets/desserts. It’s a positive thing. If you’re doing low-carb you factor in that first week weight loss and generally know it’s not going to be the norm.

Low carb is pretty easy providing you enjoy (or want to enjoy) veg, pulses, cooking. I can imagine it’s hard Or possibly damaging if you don’t do much food prep or if you hate veg.

I am amazed at everyone losing so much per week. It’s such a struggle to lose even one pound. But then I don’t have very much to lose at all...

You need a significant calorie deficit to lose more than 2 Ibs a week and like lots of people have already said, the closer you are to your healthy weight, the harder it is. I have least about 2.5 stone so far and at the beginning was losing 3-4 pounds a week. Now, it’s between 1-2, with exercise and religiously counting calories. I also hit plateaus where I don’t lose anything for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately it’s a slow process. Very frustrating.
