Priti Patel has just confirmed that tests are available for everyone. Good news. Effectively people have been lying that they are unable to get tests. Is no one scrutinising the kids of this government. Nhs staff shortages already due to lack of testing. School kids and parents anxious as well.

This is what will spread Covid faster than parties, gatherings, no mask wearing and all the other shite they blame on us. The lack of testing means no one knows if they really have it, people will lie about their symptoms or their child's symptoms so they can go to work and actually survive. I'm waiting on a second test for THE SAME FUCKING COLD ds has already been tested for, but the lingering cough meant the school wanted a second test for 'a new cough'. I'm so pissed off, my business is going down the drain, I'm so fucking stressed and exhausted from it all.

No tests available for DP either- he worked all week in SAU ward with a covid positive patient.so that's another remember of nhs staff out of action until we can find one.

I wanted to see that interview on BBC Breakfast this morning but can only watch till 7.

Those that saw it: Did Dan or Louise not refer her to the footage they had shown earlier of the people turning up at the test centers showing their phones saying the service is unavailable? Saying they Could Not Get A Test. How would she have wiggled out of that??

As PPs have mentioned, people will just give up and go to workplaces. Who is going to monitor. Track and trace - do we say more. They had months to prepare.

@slipperywhensparticus He had a fever on the Tuesday, got tested on Wednesday and results Thursday so he attended on Friday. By Monday the cold had moved to his chest but it was the first time they heard it so they want another test. All his colds follow the same pattern, a day or two of fever followed by snot and coughing for the next week. It's not the schools fault obviously, they are nervous and panicked like all of us and trying to follow impossible guidelines. It's the fucking government's fault and I hate them.

Yep this sums up how much I trust the information that comes out of her mouth. Although in fairness to her the same would apply to pretty much anyone in the cabinet at present.

They have done nothing but lie. My dad died in a care home from covid and we were told a pack of lies there too. ( I know he was very old with dementia , but still ..) All following this government's bullshit about the whole thing or just repeating what they are all told to say : same thing here too I'm afraid. They knew schools were going back yet the testing isn't up to capacity. Whatever she says is rubbish about being enough tests.
Why not just admit that there is a problem?

Priti Patel will say anything that suits her at the time. Proven liar, sacked for it but scraped up by Bozo who had sacked all the intelligent Tory MPs whose views differed from his. Atrocious woman, ashamed to see her in place.

Just grab anyone from the cabinet and hand them a phone and ask them to book a test on tv. Surely it’s as easy as that, they can end all the speculation there and then.

It’s not a question of morals or ethics or even interpreting scientific evidence. It’s binary, can or cannot book a test. If we can’t get to the truth in this matter how the hell are they doing the rest where there is a definite grey area.

I emailed my MP (Labour, very nice man), yesterday. I suggest others do the same.

We won’t need to have a second lockdown as half the pop will be self-isolating while waiting for a fucking test.
