We had the DVD and it once got stuck on US audio. It is EVEN MORE annoying with the full on American accents, which is hard to believe but true.

Also Chase (the police dog) is Skyes boyfriend so that’s why he is more interested in her safety. (It was my 5 year old who told me about chase/Skye and I ended up googling it and apparently it’s true).

Agree re negative stereotypes and Skye, although I asked my daughter which ones were boys/girls, and she told me that Rubble was a girl too.

On the other hand I can't get enough of Hey Duggee...especially the space episode. The music and graphics are awesome.

Don't mind Paw Patrol but agree with PP about the merchandise. My Dads love Marshall and Rubble so we get a lot of the boys stuff. I find Chase the worst of the dogs though.

My hated is Max and Ruby. It's banned around me. Also don't like Peppa Pig.

Though I secretly admire the cold, hard consumerism of it. It was conceived entirely to sell merchandise. The brief to the creatives was ‘must contain rescue vehicles’ and not much else.

I don't like Chase much either, he's far too bossy and full of himself. I liked an episode (possibly Mighty Pups) where Skye could control the weather and she was awesome, it was by far the best power out of any of the pups!

Oh yes, checked with the original version and she's a boy. Localised like a girl though in the translation, not sure if intentional or not.

Paw patrol never annoyed me and I found peppa pig strangely soothing although I fucking hated daddy the prick pig.Loved nanny plum on Ben and Holly who is voiced by the same person who does Miss Rabbit on peppa pig.

There's also Everest? She's a mountain rescue husky type and v switched on! (for a cartoon dog)

Everest was a late addition. Presumably after someone pointed out the gender disparity. She's not in the early ones.

What annoys me is that Chase gets picked to be on the team almost every episode. Poor Zuma hardly ever gets a go.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the same few Dino rescue episodes on Sky Catch up over the last few days. Because yes, there are now dinosaurs in the paw patrol world. Because parents obviously need more merch to buy. Actually, apart from this week when she’s obsessed with watching the new series, my daughter has always preferred playing with the figures to watching the programme. She likes to play with them every day. With me. For what feels like hours at a time!!!

Luckily my children were never interested in Paw Patrol and we stuck with Peppa Pig. I watched one episode with my nephew and wanted to claw my eyes out and ears off. Dreadful show.
Thought I'd dodged the bullet but always a risk my youngest will like it.

My kids haven't watched paw patrol for years. I still have fond memories of watching back to back episodes with my eldest while I fed his brother as a baby.

I always preferred Blaze and the monster machines. They even had a girl mechanic!

Mine saw paw patrol on a plane and on holiday (pre covid). He’s not realised you can watch it here yet and I hope it stays that way!
