Just binge watched ‘the stranger’ and loved ‘the fall’. What shall I watch next?

Anne with an E is lovely!

Grrrpredictivetex · 11/09/2020 00:59

Working mums very funny.

honeygirlz · 11/09/2020 03:22

I enjoyed Unorthodox but thought it turned a bit Hollywood at the end. Don’t want to spoilerise it.

Oysterbabe · 11/09/2020 06:21

I have loved Cobra Kai so much. I watched the whole thing with a huge grin on my face.

gerispringer · 11/09/2020 06:27

Fauda is a netflix original and brilliant. Set in Israel- Palestine.

Theromanempire · 11/09/2020 06:30

Was going to say Cobra Kai but see others have beat me to it. Daniel has not aged well but Johnny, otoh- hot!!

cherrytree63 · 11/09/2020 06:34

If you liked the Stranger, you might enjoy The Five and Safe as they're all written by Harlen Coben.

I thought Freud was excellent. DH did say it was the most f*ed up thing he had seen in a long time though! Also snowpiercer.

oreshina · 11/09/2020 08:15

LOVE Fauda and Mossad 101. Think they might be on prime though.

Caliphate was brilliant too.

I have a major crush on Yankee Shapiro (unorthodox) and Akiva Shtisel!

Sjl479 · 11/09/2020 08:17

Just finished Away, really enjoyed it. Space drama about voyage to mars

BasedInDublin · 11/09/2020 08:20

Some ones I really liked recently for binging

Ozark
Fauda

Unbelievable I watch in one sitting! Fantastic lead actresses, really amazing. It shows a really bad side to police investigative work, but also a REALLY good side too. The others are entertaining to watch, having some experience in this area, this show is IMPORTANT TO WATCH

REDLIPSTICKANDNAILS · 11/09/2020 08:28

Unorthadox

BigMamaFratelli · 11/09/2020 08:37

If you like end of the fucking world and sex education then I am not ok with this is worth a watch too.

And cobra Kai is amazing. Funny, cheesy, but really well done.

Morana23 · 11/09/2020 08:44

I second money heist/casa de papel, watched it months ago and it's honestly become an all time fave - so good!!

BikeRunSki · 11/09/2020 08:46

This is Us

Corono · 11/09/2020 09:47

I'm three into dirty John, loving it so far.

attillathenun · 11/09/2020 09:52

Sinner and Mindhunter

HostessTrolley · 11/09/2020 09:55

Little fires everywhere - can’t remember if it’s on Netflix or prime

MuddlingMackem · 11/09/2020 09:56

The Woods is a Polish adaptation of the Harlen Coben book, can't remember if it's on All 4 Walter Presents or Netflix.

Borgen - basically a Danish West Wing (Netflix)

Before We Die - Swedish noir (Walter Presents)

Designated Survivor (Netflix)

Shouldershrugger · 11/09/2020 10:00

I forgot to add Good girls.

unicornpower · 11/09/2020 10:09

Sons of Anarchy- By far my favourite series!
Haunting of hill house
Dirty John
You
The Sinner-They do go downhill after series 1 though
Virgin River-Its a drama but really heartwarming too, like a big warm hug.
Afterlife
Unbelievable-Its a true story too.

unicornpower · 11/09/2020 10:10

Also, i really enjoyed Messiah but it's been cancelled after one season which is annoying!

bythebanksof · 11/09/2020 17:05

There are indeed some great non-English series on Netflix. I find it hard to watch more than one episode as it can be tiring. Recently enjoyed:

  • Borgen (Danish)
  • Fauda
  • Unbelievable is amazing. Based on a real life story, it shows the super smart female investigative work. Luckily I've also seen some of that impact in my area (Ireland) in recent years in a range of real world cases. It's fairly real with respect to process, tools, etc.

Didn't really enjoy Dark so much, looked/sounded great, but just too many loops for me :)

CatsArePeopleToo · 11/09/2020 17:34

Sons of Anarchy FOREVER!!!
Homeland is you haven't watched yet, is a must see.
Cobra Kai is pretty cool, though childish.
13 Reasons Why is good, then Elite - similar theme, but Spanish.
La Mante - French series about a woman serial killer.
