WTF!? Don't really like the place myself but thought we would check.. and you only get 4 slots in the pool at that!!

Insane prices!! Think I'm getting tight in my old age.

@NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1

They are taking advantage of the fact that people are so desparate for a break and unable to go abroad. Honestly, is it really necessary to be THAT greedy?

It's this isn't it . How many people have booked to go abroad this year and has to cancel, more than once in some cases . Or when they've gone they've come back to 2 weeks quarantine .

I know that they are unable to take as many guests as normal but that price is ridiculous .

TableFlowerss · 04/09/2020 00:22

I’d expect to hire out the whole place for that price OP. Shock

SouthWestLolly · 04/09/2020 00:22

£3.5k for a few sessions swimming inside a giant greenhouse? They can fuck right off.

imamearcat · 04/09/2020 00:24

I think I probably find it more ridiculous that people actually pay it!

When I went, many years ago, you could use the pool as much as you liked. Everything else was extra and I agree their restaurants are expensive. The lodge was nice but I wouldn't bother to go again.

Inkpaperstars · 04/09/2020 01:24

What happens if due to self isolating or local lockdown people can't go on UK holidays? I have relatives you were going to book for oct half term but are delaying for that reason.

But yes, insane prices for center parcs. They can charge what they like I guess, but insane if anyone pays it.

TitsOutForHarambe · 04/09/2020 02:57

Christ almighty, for that price you could come and visit me in tropical Australia and book a fancy excursion out to dive in the Great Barrier Reef.

But I'm sure Centreparcs would be just as nice Hmm

I seem to remember it being quite affordable. Maybe I'm old.

Ericaequites · 04/09/2020 03:09

I plan to spend about that on a month in the UK, including a ticket from Boston, MA (USA) to London. I can take a ladies only day ticket at Bethel Green spa for £15.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 04/09/2020 06:34

I've paid less than that for a holiday in the Bahamas!

JacobReesMogadishu · 04/09/2020 06:37

I wouldn’t pay £300 to go now you get “slots” in the pool never mind £3500. I’ll wait until corona is over thanks.

Nixen · 04/09/2020 06:46

It’s madness isn’t it? We had 5 nights in the South of France in a 4 star hotel (just before the France quarantine came in!) for cheaper than a shite caravan in Scotland!

CandyflossKing · 04/09/2020 07:02

It's obviously one of their luxury accommodation with own hot tub, sauna, maid service etc. I'm sure as a business they must be confident that they can get people to stay at those prices or they wouldn't offer them. Each to their own. Standard accommodation is nowhere near that price even in the school holidays.

Ifailed · 04/09/2020 07:05

that's out and out profiteering
No it's not, it's called Capitalism.

Yerroblemom1923 · 04/09/2020 07:10

We got an apartment by the sea for three days for £225 in Oct for 3 of us. Even with meals and activities on top I can imagine we'll go over £400. I think CP is seriously overrated!

Neversayn1 · 04/09/2020 07:14

It’s a lot of money for a UK break. I can’t wait to see what CP offers I booked for next year.

rwalker · 04/09/2020 07:20

Absolute extortion they are taking full advantage of the situation

CandyflossKing · 04/09/2020 07:25

They have not put up prices due to coronavirus. The situation is irrelevant.

IsAnybodyListening · 04/09/2020 07:27

3.5k!!!!! Myself, partner, and our 2dc's went to Greece for 2 weeks last yr, all inclusive in a 4* in August for roughly that!

nosswith · 04/09/2020 07:28

Until school holidays are spread out (which will never happen I expect because no-one will want autumn half term in mid-November, for example), there will be this one week of high demand and high prices.

Just go elsewhere.

Findahouse21 · 04/09/2020 07:31

Have you checked the European centerparcs? So much cheaper

TheGreatWave · 04/09/2020 07:31

Many years ago, the then CEO of CP Eason watchdog. Anne R asked how they could justify the price hike for the half term.

He simply shrugged his shoulders and said "but we are fully booked"

So it seems that there will always be people willing to pay, so from a business pov they will charge as much as they can.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 04/09/2020 07:34

Not a chance would I pay that. We have a 3 bed detached lodge booked for the first week of winter wonderland, mon-frid £500. I wouldn't pay anymore than that to be honest.

Pinkmakeupbag · 04/09/2020 07:34

Yanbu that's crazy.

We paid less than that for a lovely hotel in a nice part of Majorca last year in the height of Summer, decent flights and half board.

Although it always shocks me the price of UK holidays. I love the UK but when people go on about a cheap week, it's only ever cheap really for a week away if you go camping.

minnieok · 04/09/2020 07:36

The cruise I'm looking at next summer costs less £2900 all inclusive for 2, (kids are currently £400 each if they share their parents stateroom )

Ilikeviognier · 04/09/2020 07:41

You’d think there would be a law against them doing stuff like that. We went last year when the kids were both still pre schoolers and we could get 4 nights out of the school holidays for about 500 quid.

I imagine the 3500 is for the most expensive lodge as there’s nothing else left. But still. Shocking. Angry
