Simply thos, I am sick fed up of stories on the news of poor hard to people who have chosen to increase their and their loved ones covid risk by going abroad on holiday knowing the risks and now they are bleating to the press about how hard done by they are. You knew the risk so stop bitching about it?

so you are selfish then. bet you will want nhs to cure you when you get back.

It's quite obvious nobody will be following the quarantine anyway unless it works in their favour (e.g. employer will pay them full pay whilst they do nothing at home or work from home if possible), it's not policed. So you can mostly ignore the moans.

It is policed. Spot checks are being carried out.

The quarantine is pretty much voluntary at this point, quite easy to get around.

The quarantine rules are completely pointless. My 2 girls went to France with my parents and were subject to the quarantine rules upon their return and missed a week of school. Me, DH and my son were not subject to the same rules and indeed me and DH continued to go spend most of our times with our newborn who is currently being cared for in hospital. The whole thing is bonkers and merely a political move. Plus where they went in France had an incredibly low level of covid cases compared to where we live which is one of the worst affected area.

Out of curiosity, does anyone think things will be back to normal by June? We're invited to a wedding abroad and not sure whether to book or not.
