They often seem to get toothpaste on themselves and it looks horrible.

I get up, have a cuppa, walk the dog, have breakfast, have a shower, get dressed, blow dry hair, clean teeth, go to work. People In my workplace Pounce on the slightest thing 🙄 Nobody has told me I have toothpaste on my blouse - yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m sure most adults are capable of cleaning their teeth without dripping toothpaste over their clothes?

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 22:52

My teeth are perfectly white and straight and all my own so I must be doing something right :) I also cannot stand when people don't brush their tongue. What's the point in brushing your teeth if you don't brush your tongue.

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 22:53

Lol @Lweji

Mrsmorton · 03/09/2020 22:58

@Mummybiscuitx cool. Not sure why you're so smug about wasting your time and money. ¯\(ツ)
Props to the MNers getting their kids into good habits whilst they're young.

OP, one reason is that a lot of people don't actually clean their teeth every day, let alone twice a day. So it doesn't matter when they get dressed.

ChanklyBore · 03/09/2020 23:00

I don’t shower in the morning. I play fast and loose with the order, sometimes I get dressed first, sometimes I have breakfast first, sometimes I drink coffee in bed, sometimes I wash and brush dressed and sometimes in the nude ......

@SummerPoppies

You are supposed to brush your teeth on waking, before eating or drinking anything. This is because all the bacteria which builds up in your mouth overnight will be swallowed with food and drink if not removed by brushing beforehand, which in turn, leads to illness as the bacteria enters your system. Healthy mouth = healthy body.
Where did you get that information from?

I brush my teeth in the shower - problem solved!

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 03/09/2020 23:59

I shower, dress, breakfast, teeth I am perfectly capable of not getting toothpaste on my clothes. DS breakfast, shower teeth, dressed, he is not. DH breakfast (with ds while I shower), then shower, teeth then dressed but that's only because DS is too little to be left alone, he used to do the same as me. DS has a leisurely breakfast with DH and then me

Gosh. I’m admittedly not the most observant person ever. But I’ve never noticed anyone with toothpaste stains on their clothes.

Certainly not to the extent that I’d be moved to start a thread about it on MN. Grin

I brush on waking, before shower. And then again after coffee / before leaving the house.

MerchantOfVenom · 04/09/2020 00:13

...and so to answer your question - in order to to have fresh, non-coffee breath before leaving the house...
