So sad to hear he has passed away. He was a wonderful actor and all round very good human. No AIBU, just feeling sad at the loss Sad

Totally agree Hadjab and MolyHolyGuacamole (what a user name that is!)

His work was culturally SO significant. Reading the tributes to him from members of the black community is incredibly humbling.

What an amazing smile he had.

I’ve lost people to cancer. No one as young as this, though. Fuck Cancer.

This news was the first thing I read when I woke up this morning. It shocked me so much. I've had a few years over it. He always seemed really nice. Black Panther would be a tough role physically anyway, without also suffering from cancer.

I love Black Panther and think it's a powerful and important film, for the reasons others have said. It's always sad when someone dies young, for whatever reason and 43 is just so young.

HOkieCOkie · 29/08/2020 18:28

Very sad, I wish other so called “celebrities” could be as dignified as he was.

WonderWebbs · 29/08/2020 19:03

Very sad news. My teenager was very upset this morning as we have been watching all the Marvel films in order through lockdown.

My DD was teary when Alan Rickman died, big HP fan.

Captainsaltpants · 29/08/2020 19:04

So so shocked and saddened still by this news! My daughter told me not too long ago.

Chadwick always seemed like such a gentle, no-fuss, no drama sort of man.

Wakanda forever!Flowers RIP!

GetUpAgain · 29/08/2020 19:42

Really sad, he was such a decent person. I didn't know him personally but the world was a better place with him in it.

belfastmillie · 29/08/2020 20:28

So sad, so young to die. I feel for his family.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 29/08/2020 20:38

There are no prizes for guessing what we are watching tonight

Mrsjayy · 29/08/2020 20:43

Ahh Rufusthesniggeringreindeer enjoy .

I've just seen Marvels response on Facebook I can't get over how sad I am about it. Such a bloody shame Sad

TheHappyHerbivore · 29/08/2020 20:46

We watched Black Panther again this evening in tribute - it’s wonderful, and he is so wonderful in it. He so perfectly exemplifies the grace, dignity, excellent and humour of T’Challa. Was really sad to watch, but also a beautiful reminder of his legacy.

Same

And I completely agree with herbavore

demelza82 · 29/08/2020 20:53

He did an excellent interview with Simon Mayo last year - passionate and articulate, even when pressed on Scorcese's controversial comments on the validity of Marvel films. A very sad loss of somebody not only talented but with obviously so much more to give

Designjunkie · 29/08/2020 22:35

I woke up to this news and it’s been on my mind all day. I even shed a tear or two. He seemed such a thoughtful and dignified man. I loved that he only accepted uplifting roles to his race, having been fired from his first major tv role for calling out the negative stereotypical nature of his drug dealer character. What a loss. My heart goes out to his family. 43 is no age.

RightOnTheEdge · 29/08/2020 22:52

I usually read news of famous people's death and think "thats sad" then move on with my day because I didn't really know them.

I woke up to this news this morning and shed some tears and it's been with me all day.

What a massive loss. A beautiful man inside and out.
I'm a big Avengers fan and there will be a huge hole left.

What a terrible loss to his family and everyone who knew him Sad
