If you divorced and happily remarried, how did you meet your current dh? Did you know each other beforehand? Through work? Online?

There IS something better in life OP.

We’re not married but blissfully happy. I’m divorced,4 kids with my ex who is a total wanker; he’s a widower with a young daughter. Met on Guardian Soulmates (now closer down). Couldn’t be happier.

Go for it.

My sister met her second husband when she reversed her car into his in a car park.
One of my friends met her second husband when she accidentally tore his shirt off his back.
Maybe you should crash your car into a man you like the of car and then year the shirt off his back OP.

I met my partner on Bumble. I have three young DC, he has none. I was 34 when we met, he was 32. He is the best person I know and is incredible with my children, though I didn't mention them in my profile or when we first messaged and he had admitted he would never have swiped right had he known I had children. Funny how things work out!

My divorced friend married her cat's vet - she was a long term client of his. Theirs is a proper love story Smile

Dh and I were both divorced when we met. He had no kids I had two. We met at work, he had recently started working there, we got together at the Xmas do. That was 15 years ago. We have a ds together now and are very happily married.

I was shagging his housemate in a fwb type arrangement as neither me (nor fwb) were interested in a relationship.
I met h after a while because he works off shifts. Unfortunately he was literally in just his pants as he had no idea I was in the house. It wasn't love at first sight but it was apparently weird for everyone else if we got talking over cups of tea or such (busy shared house). Anyway I helped Fwb guy through a few problems, we remain friends of a sort. Gradually got to know H. Realised he was everything I could ever want in a partner. Ignored it as I was resolutely a single mum at that point. I went a bit silly dating various people to try and ignore him. He became a close friend. Eventually my fwb moved and I started being concerned I wouldn't see H again as the household started to change.

I got drunk at a party there. We talked. I said I wasn't really this hedonistic fling chasing person. He had pretty much sussed me out by then though. We dated. He accidentally proposed. I pointed out I wasn't just me. We took things slowly. He met my kids who loved him. More time. We got engaged properly. We moved in. More time. We got married.

Happily divorced and currently dating a lovely guy I met on Hinge during lockdown. Feeling very much loved and wanted - not used to that!

Second husband - met on OkCupid.
Current DP - a returning old boyfriend from before the second husband who popped up after I’d been widowed for about a year.

HowFastIsTooFast · 31/08/2020 22:00

Not (yet!?) married to DP but we met online initially and then actually bumped into each other in a bar before we'd got around to arranging a date. He's just about the very best person I've ever met.

This was after 3 years of meeting absolute losers and weirdos online after my divorce. Don't give up hope OP!

Out having a drink with my friend. I was a bit tipsy and literally bumped into him in a bar. Turned round and thought he was the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. Still think it over a decade on! Fear not there is hope.
