AIBU - 9 Bedrooms but 16 bathrooms ?

A recent article saying that Meghan and Harry’s new house had the above got me thinking.
I notice lots of big posh houses seem to have up to double the amount of bathrooms that’s bedrooms. Why ?
What do they need all those bathrooms for ?
Any ideas ?

I don't get it either, its like the house owners expected everyone in the house to need a shit at the same time.

We went to see a new build 3 bedroom house. All bedrooms and ensuite and then a toilet downstairs. I felt that was a bit excessive.

I'm also perplexed by that many bathrooms above the number of bedrooms. My first thought would be dreading having to clean that many bathrooms but I dont suppose that's going to be a concern of MM!

Wouldn't be my concern either I've got a cleaner, in fact 3 cleaners as I run holiday lets so have to get 18 bathrooms clean in a short space of time

I’ve got the feeling Megs is very pernickety and there will be lots of “remodelling”, @jingmahsbucket, to get the house to her liking, whether ‘his n hers’ juicing rooms, or a mini “Versailles hall of mirrors” to practice speeches in - but who knows or cares apart from the DM!

I would imagine her tastes run a bit above their personal means, and if she can’t get a high paying gig, and the big gatherings to hear her speak aren’t allowed, then Charles no doubt will be asked for a few $ to cover costs.

They probably also have a pool house with changing and toilets. Plus separate facilities for staff and guests...

Bathrooms are for having a shower, a shit and a shave. I’d much rather use the space for rooms I spend more time in.

(We have one downstairs bathroom, no extra toilet for a family of 4).
