Hi everyone!

Hoping to ask for help in tracing another lamb teddy for my daughter, she really loves it like no other teddy!

Lamby does have a label but it is just a fire warning and instructions on washing.

Here is Lamby-

Lambys are the best, I'm very pleased you have solved this! My teenager has a Lamby, from a charity shop, loved since she was a shepherd in the pre school nativity. AND my grown up cousin by coincidence had the same make Lamby as well when she was small. Enjoy a lifetime of Lambyness 🐑

Slumcat · 17/08/2020 20:19

Glad you found it! We also have a Lamby, foxy, Wolfie and just to shake things up, Mr Penguin

Peapod67 · 17/08/2020 20:20

I found it using Google Lens, it’s amazing 😊

fatisnotafeeling · 17/08/2020 20:30

We have a lamby too, she is 18 yrs old the same as my DD. She got lost in Cyprus once when we were on holiday, the hotel staff took her with the bedding because she was white. Apparently we had half the staff looking for her and she was found and replaced on the bed the next day, oh the relieve.

She hadn't left the house since that holiday and never will again I don't think.

This thread has inspired me to look for a replacement for my sons best friend.

There's the exact one on eBay but its currently £4.20 with £3.95 postage.

The damn thing cost £1.99 new!

BaconsLaw · 17/08/2020 20:42

@Mixingitall

Ahhh, I am so pleased you found a replica!

My son lost a Lamby (from mothercare) and we couldn’t find a replacement, he was devastated.

We bought him Elmo from h&m, it was the label and size he liked!

Is this the lamb?

All the feels

We have Little Lamb (we have Lamby too but he's not the favourite). He was an impulse buy by my mum from Asda at Easter last year and we were hoping to try and find another one this Easter - then Covid hit and Adsa is quite a way away so we never made it. Might try and get a picture tomorrow as he's currently being cuddled, and see if anyone can find him online anywhere!

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 17/08/2020 20:49

I bought several for my dd when she was tiny, in case one got lost.

She then ‘found’ them all. We had to travel in tandem with 5 identical rabbits for about 9 years.

However even though they were meant to be identical they weren’t. She could tell the difference using, touch, smell and appearance.

Don’t kid yourself that buying replacements will solve your problems!

onlymyselftoanswerto1 · 17/08/2020 20:52

My (now 20yo) ds had a favourite stuffed dinosaur from planet Hollywood called star. I bought a few extras from eBay after we realised this was going to be the favourite, but he knew the difference straight away the little sod lol. He still has Star, who moved out with him when he went to live with his girlfriend and her stuffed doggy lol. Poor star no longer has eyes and was restuffed many times but he was very loved. Glad you found a replica, but your dc might also know the difference lol 😁

Is this it?^ looks very like it but just not worn in

Yesterdayforgotten · 17/08/2020 21:02

Ah I see you have it! Just ignore

SoPanny · 17/08/2020 21:05

I know this sounds crackers but when you do obtain New Lamby wash him, then stick him in your bra for a bit.

Even though it seems bonkers your smell will hopefully hide the fact this isn’t Original Lamby (MIA) and be less likely to be identified as an impostor.

raspberryrippleicecream · 17/08/2020 21:05

DD had a Lamby too. Am glad someone has been able to help

TheGreatWave · 17/08/2020 21:06

Did you manage to buy one then? It now says oos.

TooMinty · 17/08/2020 21:19

My DS2 fell in love with a bear my brother bought him from the USA. You can't buy them here so I had to get one shipped. Bear was $5 dollars, shipping was $10. But worth it for peace of mind! He knows there are 2 now but is happy to only use one at a time fortunately.

NCParanoia · 17/08/2020 22:04

So so happy I could help, OP. I also used Google lens (basically reverse Google image search). That will be one loved lamby Grin

ladycarlotta · 17/08/2020 22:06

Yes, OP, the minute you buy more Lambys is the minute your daughter drops it like a stone.

Unfortunately I got our daughter's favourite cuddly Piggy from a charity shop, so I might one day have to make a similar appeal. But Piggy doesn't tend to leave her bed, she has a monkey she takes to nursery and you better believe I have a backup monkey stashed away.

lillylemons · 17/08/2020 22:14

glad you tracked down lamby.
dd got a lamby when she was a baby shes 13 now and lamby still sleeps with her

Mixingitall · 17/08/2020 22:19

@BaconsLaw, no, but pleased you have a lovely lamby too! Thank you for asking.

Ours was plain and long limbed. We lost him on Hove sea front, and walked up and down trying to find him.

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 17/08/2020 22:19

I am 50, and my Lambo is even now, replacing peacefully under my pillow.. Blush

Elmo311 · 17/08/2020 23:25

@TheGreatWave Yes, they only had 2 in stock so I bought them both Grin

OP posts:
Elmo311 · 17/08/2020 23:27

@SoPanny I will do that thank you!

I bet she will know the difference anyway, as others have pointed out, but I'm glad to have a couple of replacement Lambys should anything happen to this one!

OP posts:
Elmo311 · 17/08/2020 23:29

Thank you to everyone who commented, and I just can't believe it actually worked and we now have more Lamby friends on the way!

I will try not to let on that I have back ups.

She's clever like that, she will sense that I've chilled out and maybe Lamby will become less special!
