He's fallen asleep before me . Had a couple of glasses of wine each and he's snoring his head off . I hear others complaining and sleeping in separate rooms etc , but I find it a really soothing sound . He's sleeping peacefully after a hard week at work , I'm Mumsnetting , all's good . Anyone else feel happy to hear snoring ?

@Vodkacranberryplease

I love the found of my dog snoring. It's SO cute. She's only little so very little snores.
My dogs snoring is adorable! My husbands on the other hand makes me want to reach for the pillow....
NoDarling · 16/08/2020 00:29

YABU.

I hate when DH snores! He only snores when he's had a lot to drink.

Gosh, I'm getting annoyed just thinking about it. Might have to go make a cup of tea before I end up telling DH off for snoring he is not doing. Hmm

22Giraffes · 16/08/2020 00:29

What kind of nonsense is this! YABU

Tinkerbell456 · 16/08/2020 00:29

I am with you op! I defy the haters. The snorephobics! I guess snuffles are easier than full on massive log sawing. I guess it’s been somewhat comforting after30 years. He’s alive!

morriseysquif · 16/08/2020 00:30

YABU 'my man' ugh, like 'my woman' People are not commodities.

Snoring has ruined many a sleep, YABU and sound like a doormat.

Ohhh, my man , just love him even snoring. 😂

Tillygetsit · 16/08/2020 00:33

Yabvvvvvvvvvu. I'm in a separate room at the other end of the house and I can still hear my beloved dh's wounded warthog impersonation. The bedroom windows are open so I expect half the street can hear it too. My 8yr old has often come in to me complaining about it and even suggested lining dhs bedroom with egg boxes 😂

Sparklesocks · 16/08/2020 00:37

I can’t take it when my DP snores. It sounds like a wild boar has somehow snuck into my bed.

However I sort of know what you mean, my dad used to snore heavily when I was a kid and I’d hear him if I went to the loo in the middle of the night (or snuck out as a teen 👀) and it was reassuring to hear the rhythm of it.

RubaDubMum89 · 16/08/2020 00:44

YABVVU

Although I'm jealous of your ability to sleep through it! I can happily sleep through DDs regulated, monotone snuffles, DP however, as he is asthmatic, sounds like a grizzly bear having an asthma attack with the occasional mouse being stepped on. Quite honestly, he's lucky he's still alive!

CorianderLord · 16/08/2020 00:46

My childhood best mate snores like an old man. She was age 5-18. I found it really hard to sleep at sleepovers without her snoring next to me Grin

SerenDippitty · 16/08/2020 00:46

I agree that there is something very reassuring about a dog snoring, and very cute as well. But not my DH.

DeltaAlphaDelta · 16/08/2020 00:49

DW snores worse then any man I have heard. It is not relaxing. YABVVVU!

cafedesreves · 16/08/2020 00:49

YABU!!!

rosiejaune · 16/08/2020 01:27

YABU, as it can be an indicator of a serious health issue. It is not biologically normal and it should concern you.

Elsewyre · 16/08/2020 03:19

Mine twitches like a dreaming puppy.

I like staying up a bit longer than them to watch the twitching start as they fall asleep Smile

Shesapunkpunk · 16/08/2020 04:06

I could live with the sound of someone snoring if I never ever had to hear “my man” uttered ever ever again. It gives me fucking hives.

eatsleepread · 16/08/2020 04:10

Another one who loves my dog's snoring. It's loud but adorable.
Shih Tzus are very snorty indeed.
I think I'm going to be single forever Grin

Took · 16/08/2020 04:32

Are you trying to set up an alibi? Show this thread to the police as proof you loved his snoring really and it definitely wasn’t you that smothered him with a pillow?

blubberball · 16/08/2020 04:50

I'm a snorer (I think), I literally can't help it as I'm fast asleep. My exh used to push me, kick me, hit me, shout at me, wake me and make me sleep on the sofa. My sleep was broken and smashed for years.

With many more issues, I'm a million times happier now that I've left him, and can sleep all night in my own bed, and snore as loud as I bloody well like.

My dp now is lovely. My snoring doesn't bother him at all, and he never even mentions it. He snores a little sometimes, and I love it. Some one I love is having a lovely sleep.

coronafiona · 16/08/2020 05:21

YABU it's the reason I'm awake at 5.21am Angry

LockdownLump · 16/08/2020 05:40

How long have you been with this snorer, OP?

Come back in 10 years and let us know if you still find it reassuring 😂

LockdownLump · 16/08/2020 05:42

Wow. Bet you're fun at a party 🙄

How does this translate as “not fun at a party”? Confused you do know there are medical reasons for snoring don’t you? (Not just sometimes... there just is)
CherryValanc · 16/08/2020 05:55

Is there going to be a drip feed?

He's actually a cat.

EmberElftree · 16/08/2020 05:57

My cat snores gently while curled up asleep on my lap which is soothing and adorable.

My DH snores like a rabid wildebeest Angry
