Would you or your kids or teens lie on a bed with shoes on?

Just noticing in a lot of films and tv shows, people will fling themselves down onto the bed without kicking off their shoes. Sometimes to read, or talk on the phone, or stare moodily into space for a bit - so not just in complete exhaustion to sleep.

Admittedly I'm a fusspot who needs to take off bra and jeans and anything vaguely restricting in terms of clothing in order to relax properly and contentedly (either on the couch or the bed) but AIBU to reckon most people prefer to at least remove their shoes?

How is it comfortable otherwise?!

@wanderings I sometimes wear trainers without socks too if in a hurry but I dont find it as comfortable! I do however hate shoes indoors but nothing to do with MN ironically! Shock

Not at home. Maybe in a hotel..

I wear shoes in my house. I suspect it's a lot to do with growing up in my mum's home where even now you would have to wipe your feet on the way OUT cos of the muck. My floors are clean but I'm more comfortable in shoes. However, never ever do shoes belong on a bed! Nope.

I quite often wear my shoes in the house, and if I flung myself on my bed to talk on the phone or stare moodily into space then I wouldn't take them off, but if I was going for a nap I would. For reading, it would depend.
