If you've been both slim and overweight

Do you sweat and struggle more in this heat? Do you smell more too, I've been slim and now over weight and really struggling but can't remember being thin so I don't know

Made no difference. What really did was age. Perimenopause = being a hot, sweaty mess all the time, smelling more, it was fucking awful.

JaceLancs · 11/08/2020 22:38

Currently a 12-14 been an 8-10 and 20-22
I cope with heat much better as a skinny

whenwillthemadnessend · 11/08/2020 22:45

Yes I most definitely smelt and sweated worse when I was heavier.

Sad but true.

Tillygetsit · 11/08/2020 22:52

I have never sweat so much under my chin(s) as this year. It's horrendous. I hate this weather whatever size I am.

ArtichokeAardvark · 11/08/2020 22:52

All those with thigh rub - baby powder is your friend! Thin dusting of powder every couple of hours and your thighs can bump along together merrily. I also dust the baby powder under my boobs before putting a bra on.

I'm a size 18/20 now and I'm dying in this heat. It was definitely easier when I was thinner.

MotherPiglet · 11/08/2020 22:58

I'm overweight now and I'm definitely sweating more and more uncomfortable than I did when I was slim. Also i consider my clothes alot more now so that probably doesnt help but I just feel disgusting.

Lovingyou · 11/08/2020 23:00

I've been a size 14 and now an 8. I think it's an exercise thing as well. Nowadays I run 10k relatively easily and something about running actually makes me feel cooler afterwards. I'm not sure if there's a proper scientific explanation. I think it might be that the fitter you are and the less weight you carry, the more efficient your body is at cooling down.

IncrediblySadToo · 11/08/2020 23:03

Hmmm

IncrediblySadToo · 11/08/2020 23:06

I think it's a combination of everything including the illness that results in me being fat as well as the actual fat, plus the folds that trap the sweat & heat it's all a joy.

If I could go back to my 6-8 stone healthy self I would. But 🤷🏻‍♀️

monkeytennis97 · 11/08/2020 23:12

Gone down from a 20/22 to a size 16 since lockdown ... much easier as a 16 to wear cooler clothes in general and get less sweaty.

monkeytennis97 · 11/08/2020 23:13

I hope been an 8/10 and Summer heat was fab then!

monkeytennis97 · 11/08/2020 23:13

Have not hope

Absolutely this! ^

Also overweight so the last few days at 34-36 degrees has been HELL 🥵 2 more days then it's meant to drop to mid 20's, I feel I've lost stones in sweat but unfortunately I haven't!

fibeee · 11/08/2020 23:21

Yes I have been slim and am now obese and am really struggling in the heat

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 11/08/2020 23:25

Yes I’m a size 14/16

Yes I sweat more smell more the heat makes me get out of breath easily my body is telling me it’s needs nourishing and looking after better I need to take that on board

I feel like all my fat is melting yet i seem to be swelling maybe the fat expands Confused

FannyFungi · 11/08/2020 23:25

I smell less and sweat less now I’m fat (20) than I did when I was a size 4/6. My chafe the same amount now as they did when they were slim. I got fat because of my thyroid then long term high dose steroids. It seems the combo stopped my
Hyper hydrosis which was embarrassing and made me smell. So I guess I found a silver lining.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/08/2020 23:30

I’ve never been particularly large, but have always struggled with thigh rub - I read a tip to use stick deodorant and it works like a charm. (I’m a size 10, but bottom heavy.)

73kittycat73 · 11/08/2020 23:40

I've found menopause more of a problem than weight. Damn hot flushes! (Can't take HRT because of previous cancer.) I sweat when I bend over since the menopause. Hmm I get underboob sweat too. Sad I'm currently sat with a fan on me and I'm still hot!"

CallarMorvern · 11/08/2020 23:43

I'm now a 12-14, I was a size 22. I've never struggled with the heat at either size, apart from the dreaded chub rub.
But I struggle with the cold terribly and that has got much worse since losing weight.

MrsToothyBitch · 11/08/2020 23:49

Yes I definitely feel the heat a bit more, although I've lost a bit since last summer and I've noticed some improvement, which keeps me motivated to really lose more!!

My inner thighs/tops of limbs have always been plump so my chafage/chub rub has been more or less the same through out, although I had to use sudocreme last summer and I've been fine this year.
