to ask if you did anything special with your wedding bouquet afterwards. I love my flowers and seems such a shame to just throw them away.

They’re currently languishing in a vase of water and still going strong.

Any wonderful ideas?

I know about the parchment pressing but is there anything else you could share.

I had mine dried and made into a glass paperweight- they look amazing. It was expensive but will last forever (hopefully!).

My friend makes art from wedding bouquets. Check out her website: joy-impressionsprints.com/collections/tara-joy-artwork

I dried mine in the airing cupboard for several weeks then kept them in a trug type basket until I got divorced 🤣

I had a paper flower bouquet that I made, and 23 years on (today is our anniversary) it still looks as good. A friend had silk calla lilies and turned then into a stunning display with fairy lights twisted in

Mine also went on my nan's grave

My aunt worked in a nursing home and she took all the flowers for them.

Annabanana1234 · 09/08/2020 15:55

I put mine on my brothers grave as it was just past the first anniversary of his death. I had 3 floral displays and gave one to my now ex mil, one to my aunt and one to my mum in order of smallest to biggest 🤣

I threw it in the air on the wedding day, the person who then catches it is supposed to be the next one to get married.
No one believes it but I think it is a nice tradition.

Friend used to run a small business preserving and framing bouquets. She was always in a panic because some went manky/black - and there are happy brides around the country who will never realise that their preserved memories are padded out with roses from Tesco.

Mine went into a paperweight.

I did the traditional throwing of the bouquet and my friend put them in a vase and enjoyed them for a couple of weeks -

My bouquet, pressed & mounted on silk, 26 years old!

I had fake flowers and adored my flowers kept until recently we’ve been married 13 years next month no room to store so had to get rid I am thinking of having a tiny bouquet in the same colours for our bedroom. Burgundy and ivory.

I made my own wedding bouquet, and my late Mum, took them home after, as went on honeymoon straight after the wedding. She would have displayed them in her very best vase, used for special flowers !!

YorkshireIndie · 09/08/2020 20:01

My flowers and my sister's (bridesmaid) went on my grandfather's grave. He had died a couple of weeks before I got married. I asked my mum to do it as it felt like a nice thing to do (otherwise they would have died before I got home from the honeymoon)
