Love White Room by Cream, Stevie Wonder, The Kinks, Simon and Garfunkel, The Forest Gump soundtrack too has loads of stuff from that era.
Obviously the well-known stuff by The Beatles, Queen, Elton John, Bowie.
A bit of US heavy rock is good too eg. Rainbow, Boston, REO Speedwagon.
Later stuff " new wave" eg, Blondie, Elvis Costello. I also like Billy Joel, not sure where he fits in!

Also, what modern music is she into because so much samples old stuff. There's a great website called whosampled - if she searches for her favourite artists she might discover some old tracks and artists she likes too
