Does anyone else get this?

Since having DS, every time I have a bath I seem to err... leak water afterwards.

Normal? Grin

Its normal!

CrazyToast · 31/07/2020 14:47

I dont see how it can be to do with a weak pelvic floor? Unless people are suggesting you clamp your bits so closed during the bath they are airtight?

Water goes in there during the bath when you swish around and it comes out when you stand up. If it is happening more when bathing with your kid then maybe its cos you move around more when they are in there? As far as I know it is normal, common and nothing to do with being post-birth cos people have it when they are kids too.

[quote rosiejaune]Pelvic floor exercises are not appropriate in many cases. They can make things worse.

Does anyone agree with Katy Bowman? Are there any studies or anything to back up her claims?

AreweatChristmasyet · 31/07/2020 15:39

Surely it’s the same as water coming out of your ears after swimming?

Ginkypig · 31/07/2020 15:40

@liklypaddy

I also can't use tampons anymore. I do pelvic floor exercises every day but do have a feeling something isn't right down there Blush
I posted before I saw this.

This is something you need to get checked out and the water shouldn't get trapped as in you can't get it out again.

If you feel something isn't right then definitely don't feel you have to live with it, you have every right to go and get checked out and then receive treatment if something is wrong.

I suppose though it depends how long ago you gave birth too though as it's a lot of trauma on that area so it does take a few weeks to calm down and settle so if your only a month or so post birth I wouldn't necessarily be worried that there is something permanently damaged but you can still go and get checked.

Swimming pool water can also come out of your vagina after swimming, not just your ears.

catgirl1976 · 31/07/2020 15:51

Normal. My Fanoir has always been like one of the lower class Titanic cabins post bath even before kids. Apparently it’s quite u shaped accordingly to smear nurse lady.

catgirl1976 · 31/07/2020 15:51

Oh should have RTFT. If you have other issues like the tampons go and get yourself checked out x

Bodgedboxdye · 31/07/2020 16:03

I don’t think it’s to do with pelvic floor muscles it’s more to do with being a lass. /:

It’s fine, don’t worry about it. (:

LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 31/07/2020 16:07

It can't be linked to pelvic floor muscles as these don't clamp the vagina shut at rest in the bath!

paellaandpies · 31/07/2020 16:17

The key is that OP says it’s only since having her DS. Therefore it is not normal for her and therefore better to get it checked out, just to be safe.

Weebitawks · 31/07/2020 16:18

You think that's bad, you wait till you go swimming. I hate getting out of the pool!

Lockdownlurker · 31/07/2020 16:23

I’ve had this all my life - before & after kids, just assumed everyone did!

Idontbelieveit12 · 31/07/2020 16:46

I don’t get it after baths but I do get it when I’ve been swimming 🤣

LinManWellWellWell · 31/07/2020 16:51

Completely normal and not really to do with pelvic floor. More like water flows through an opening during the bath and then gravity does its work when you get out! No amount of pelvic floor exercises are going to fully seal your vagina shut during a bath...

burritofan · 31/07/2020 17:00

You're not alone! I generally don't bother putting trousers on for 15-20 minutes after a bath, just walk around with a bucket between my knees.

User87471643901065319 · 31/07/2020 17:13

Try showering instead? Grin

2bazookas · 31/07/2020 17:17

Next; vaginal farts...

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 31/07/2020 17:21

It used to happen to me pre children. Doesn’t now.

LinManWellWellWell · 31/07/2020 21:21

@2bazookas I know right?!!

SickOfNorthernExile · 31/07/2020 21:29

Here are my people! Had it since puberty.

Spent years thinking it meant I was horrifically wrong of fanny. Everyone I knew well enough to ask about it, claimed it had never happened to them.

Eventually accepted it as a quirk of my body and didn’t take baths if I had to dress and dash out quickly after Grin but...

Bastards I knew they were lying.

GhostCurry · 31/07/2020 21:44

Oh naff off all those suggesting that it’s a major pelvic floor issue. As if a woman’s vagina has to be a water-tight vice Hmm

AnyFucker · 31/07/2020 21:45

Normal

LunaNorth · 31/07/2020 21:50

I still smile at the last thread I read on here over ten years ago now. The OP used the phrase ‘take on water.’

Now I have ‘fanoir’ to smile at, too.
