SO has returned from the kitchen with, wait for it, digestive biscuts covered in butter and cheese.
And he says I'm weird because I like baked beans and cheese, stired in, on jacket potato.

Who is being unreasonable

AIBU = Digestives and cheese is rank
YANBU = Baked beans and cheese is rank

I’d eat both 😋 yum

PrincessHoneysuckle · 30/07/2020 23:19

He is BU.A sweet biscuit with cheese? 🤢 Nothing is better than the humble cream cracker preferably Jacobs.

Hairthrowaway · 30/07/2020 23:22

I think of digestives as the chocolate covered variety. If that’s what he’s adding cheese on, that’s grim. But if it’s just plain it’s not that different from crackers with cheese really

Beans & cheese as jacket potato toppings are pretty standard

LemonyFace · 30/07/2020 23:22

Both are good 😊

Newwayofthinking · 31/07/2020 09:04

Thank you for the replies

DH does 99% of the cooking, so we had already had tea. He was getting a snack.

Digestive and cheese?! Ugh
Beans and cheese on a jacket potato is a standard meal surely

Sexnotgender · 31/07/2020 09:19

Both are fine 🤨

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 31/07/2020 09:22

Both are good especially a digestive with Brie, mmmm.

blosstree · 31/07/2020 10:07

Digestives and cheese are great, not sure about the butter

But what would hold the cheese to the digestive?

Newwayofthinking · 31/07/2020 10:19

Digestive, butter and cheese

Sorry had a few lemonade last night and forgot the butter bit.

He said cheese sprinkles on beans is fine, however I mix it all in and that's weird 🙄🤷‍♀️

In cracker selection box at Christmas you get a digestive biscuit shaped like hovis loaf of bread

VettiyaIruken · 31/07/2020 11:01

Not sure about the butter but a digestive with cheese spread is amazing.

m0use · 31/07/2020 11:04

Both are wholly acceptable, surely?

DDiva · 31/07/2020 11:11

Both are good. Often cracker selection boxes include digestives.

Xiaoxiong · 31/07/2020 11:15

I don't like baked beans from a can (too sweet and soft) but I can appreciate the combination.

Digestives and cheese also good.

In fact I think cheese goes really well with sweet things - fruitcake and wensleydale, bara brith and caerphilly, apple pie and a slice of cheddar...

FattyBoom · 31/07/2020 11:16

Both are good, but I wouldn't put butter on digestives just slices of cheese

Apolloanddaphne · 31/07/2020 11:16

Both are great. I love a digestive with butter and cheese. I also like a digestive with peanut butter.

Beans on toast with melted grated cheese on top is delicious.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/07/2020 11:16

Digestives are my favourite biscuits for cheese, always with a scrape of butter, and preferably topped with chutney.

I don’t especially like a baked potato with beans, but on toast I would put beans, a dash of Lea and Perrins, then grated cheese.

MiddleClassProblem · 31/07/2020 11:28

@PurpleDaisies

Digestive biscuits shaped like little loaves come in boxes of assorted crackers, so obviously meant to eat with cheese!

I thought they were called Hovis biscuits. I never knew they were digestives. Mind blown.

They are hovis biscuits but the same taste as digestives so maybe that’s what pp meant.

I think the only thing that is wrong is stirring in the cheese. You barely taste it like that. I like cheese on top, slightly melted.

BurtsBeesKnees · 31/07/2020 11:36

My dh does the butter, cheese and digestive biscuit thing - urghhhh

But I'm with you on the jacket potato

JaggySplinter · 31/07/2020 11:45

Both sounds utterly vile to me. Each to their own with food, though, so just crack on and enjoy what you enjoy.

HowLongCanICallitBabyWeight · 31/07/2020 11:50

Baked beans are sweet and slimy and I don't know anyone who does like them who would stir cheese in rather than melt on top. Digestive biscuits with a tangy blue cheese or caramelised onion relish and brie... Delicious. Have you not seen these ones?

liklypaddy · 31/07/2020 12:06

Both sound disgusting!

msbevvy · 31/07/2020 12:13

Both are good, and entirely normal.

Digestives are often served in restaurants as part of a cheese board.
