I've just come across this and I feel sick. How is it allowed.

So much stuff is banned from Twitter but this is fine. I have no words

No CSA survivor would ever describe what happened to them as something beneficial

Exactly. We are hearing lots of "MAPS" pov, but I'm yet to here from one csa survivor who thinks the experience was a positive, that more children should get to experience it and that it should be legal.

These "MAPS" can try and normalise it all they want but children simply don't want to have sex. If they did, they would be doing it with each other. At best a consentual cross age relationship would just be bribery. I'll take you to lego land if.......
Which is obviously still CSA and very much not a loving consentual relationship.

I will be surprised (and pleased, obviously) if this thread is still here at the end of the day.

It seems that threads about safeguarding, grooming and paedophilia are no longer allowed on mumsnet - the external monitors are keen to report, and posters who don't usually post on the feminist boards aren't used to having to self-edit Hmm

The fact that there are so many people are desperately trying to suppress these conversations means that is is ever more important we continue to talk.

You won't hear anything positive about child sexual abuse from me, it affected my whole life. 53 years ago and I still remember the shame, you see it was my fault for being so pretty!!

I’m so sorry Sad mine was many years ago too, and still affects me profoundly.

I think people minimise the (in reality) life-long impact that CSA has. You only have to look at the shaming of those who come forward as adults (“Why are you dragging all this up now?” type things) to know that many people consider abuse to be something that’s only problematic when it’s actually happening, rather than something that traumatises the victim for a very, very long time after the fact.

@whattimeisitrightnow, thank you and Flowers for you. I agree that there is an element of, Why bring it up now. It's always there in the back of my mind. I've tried but I cannot get past it.

@Thisfucker

I'm so sorry for what you went threw.

It feels like as a society we should be cracking down harder on CSA and and have a no tolerance approach - especially now we know more about what a profound lifelong impact CSA has on victims. But instead we seem to be going the other way.
Normalising sexual displays and fetishes in public and in front of children.
CSA images easily accessible and consumed by the masses online with very little repercussion.
Open public discussion by so called MAPs.
Grooming gangs having a bind eye turned to them.
Sexual imagery marketed to kids.
The list goes on. Our society is so heavily saturated in sex and there seems to be no concern about protecting children from it. In fact people seem intent on including children in it.

As I saw someone quote on Insta the other day - the powers that be have done a pretty good job of suppressing information that goes against the covid narrative they want displayed - but they seemingly can't get rid of child sexual images off the Internet. You can find sexual content of children on Insta and YouTube.

If there are people monitoring the boards for criticism of paedophiles and reporting posts...that's really concerning.

And yet not surprising.
CuriousaboutSamphire · 01/08/2020 13:44

And not new either!

That was going on with my thread a few days ago about a family member who is a convicted long time CSA offender.

The paedophile supporters were there quickly shutting down the normal human point of view of it being horrific and it meant that if it wasn’t for the AIBU voting system it would seem that more MN’s were in support than against if they had just read the responses!
Was quite shocking and upsetting

BeautyQueenFromMars · 02/08/2020 12:49

That makes me feel sick.
