To think it's rude when people put me on loud speaker on the phone without telling me?

DM always does this! One minute I can hear her, the next I can hear pots and pans and my own voice echoing (and knowing her DP can hear every word).... Sometimes I've even heard her weeing in the background! 😳🤣

Not just DM either - Some friends do this too.

I rarely put people on speaker phone but if I do I always say "Do you mind if pop you on speaker for a mo as I'm just doing XYZ".

I feel like this one is going to divide the crowd!

It's not only "manners" in the office, it's the professional thing to do. Anytime I put people on speakerphone, I let them know and tell them who else is present.

I hate having mobile to my ear, it just gets painful and i can't hear them as well as on speaker.
So i put on speaker always, but im in the room alone, and hold it to my mouth, i can just hear better and pain free.

some people who are partially deaf do this and still hold phone to ear as it increases volume, unfortunately not everyone calling you speaks directly into microphone so it can help,

My dad does this. It drives me mad. Because I can't hear him properly. Or worse is when he's driving and the phone is on speaker in the footwell of the car. FFS just get a parrot installed.
