Apparently it was the Policeman. We still debate this. AIBU?

We had to switch Balamory over whenever Archie the Inventor appeared for dd1 She did, however, love Josie Jump

Aw, @IDontLikeZombies Fenella the Kettle Witch is just a sweet little old lady!

My own particular childhood trauma was NoseyBonk. I mean, seriously, who thought that was a good idea??

Teana89 · 26/07/2020 09:46

All of these pale in comparison to the Mulligrubs. Australian "kids" tv show. It still gives me shudders.

Google it and then remember it was aimed at preschoolers!

My 10 year old is terrified of Peppa Pig, mascots, and babies.

He is not scared of Tim Burton's animations such us Nightmare Before Christmas, Don't Hug me I'm Scared, Cyriaque, and Trevor Henderson monsters or Slenderman, which he finds fascinating,

I grew up on the Banana Splits, Animal Crackers and Oscar the Rabbit, Terrifying.

ASimpleLampoon · 26/07/2020 09:50

Animal Magic not animal crackers, totally different.

ASimpleLampoon · 26/07/2020 09:51

Bollocks. It was Animal Kwackers.

FLOrenze · 26/07/2020 09:53

I was terrified of Mr Plod the Policeman in Noddy. I could not let my son watch Rupert the Bear because he would be in hysterics when it finished. No video recorders in those days.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 26/07/2020 12:24

My daughter was absolutely terrified of Mr Tumble up until she was three years old. Strangely she loved Justin Fletcher in everything else he was on and obviously didn't realise that it was the same person.

DD now 16 adored Archie from Balamory, she still has her Archie soft toy. She also loved Dora, but would wonder away from the TV where I quite often would find myself alone still watching bloody Dora and answering her questions while she stood there staring me down with those blinking eyes !

DS1 (19) was terrified of little cook from Big cook Little cook. It was the hair apparently Confused

Does anyone know what happened to the original Joise Jump ? The actress suddenly changed mid season and we never could find out why.

and when I thought I was done, along came DS2 who is now 3, he loves the midnight garden, I think it is just a bloody odd program. They also rebooted Blues Clues so we're watching that now and Paw Patrol, Go Jetters can be a bit too perilous at times.

lottiegarbanzo · 26/07/2020 13:29

I read on here that original Josie Jump was doing a degree at the same time and reached a point where she wanted to devote her attention to that.

lottiegarbanzo · 26/07/2020 13:34

Josie was dd's favourite. We used to do her song and dance. I liked Edie and Archie (and always thought Archie and Plum had something going on - bit giggly, those two!).

iklboo · 26/07/2020 13:40

DS was terrified of The Fraggles.

Marcipex · 26/07/2020 13:43

The teacher was pretty unsettling too.

sergeilavrov · 26/07/2020 14:00

I was personally terrified of Rosie and Jim. I’d run out of the room crying when I heard the theme tune. I was not an ITV kid (is that still a thing, ITV vs BBC?)

Orchidsindoors · 26/07/2020 18:04

Why dont you take him on holiday to Tobermory, it might cure his fear.

PiggyPokkyFool · 26/07/2020 20:27

That is so funny @51Pegasusb as DD2 would run from the room shouting : Bick cook Ello cook NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
We found out it was the saucepans with eyes that freaked her out when she held up a saucepan one day saying good pan - no eyes - thank you.
Poor little boo - her sister would reassure her they had gone and peace was restored.
She loved Peppa Pig until she was 10 7 Grin

gingganggooleywotsit · 26/07/2020 20:30

I loved the policeman in Balamory he was so camp!
