Especially with children, is it advisable?

What do you mean?

dementedpixie · 21/07/2020 19:42

What's your context?

slipperywhensparticus · 21/07/2020 19:44

lughnasadh · 21/07/2020 19:46

Twickerhun · 21/07/2020 19:47

One should be alert certainly. Boris said so. Even vegans should be alert. Vigilant is pushing it tho

Ukholidaysaregreat · 21/07/2020 19:48

TELL US THE TRUTH.

Jeez, calm down 😂 why all the screaming capitals.

ContessaferJones · 21/07/2020 19:55

Oh, certainly. I'm vegan and my DS (9) is heading that way as he has systematically rejected all forms of animal protein except chicken/eggs. I worked out this morning how much protein he needs - 80% in grams of his weight in kilos, so 32g protein is required for a 40 kg child. That's easily doable even on a vegan diet, with beans/lentils/nuts etc. But attention is needed, yes. Why do you ask?

Starbuggy · 21/07/2020 19:57

Is “be vigilant” the new “stay alert”? does it only apply to vegans?

Do fuck off with your vague nonsense

Soubriquet · 21/07/2020 20:00

Be vigilant
But don’t be vigilant

Eat vegan
But don’t eat vegan

Post on mn
But don’t post on mn

Nottherealslimshady · 21/07/2020 20:02

Do you mean to ensure you get enough nutrient? I'm not, but I do plot what I eat anyway for weight loss. I eat a lot of meat alternatives and dark green veg.
The problems are for people who are fussy, bland eaters, but it's worth bearing in mind that those people dont often get what they need on a meat diet either.

TrainspottingWelsh · 21/07/2020 20:04

Absolutely, what a sensible and articulate post.
#Be vigilant, save allotments, protect vegans.

PablosHoney · 21/07/2020 20:04

He/she needs to be vigilant to ensure they aren’t excluded from a medieval banquet

Gobbycop · 21/07/2020 20:10

😂

BigChocFrenzy · 21/07/2020 20:11

Do you mean vigilant in case they get offered e.g. naice ham as the vegan option ?

Or vigilant that they are eating an adequate selection of foods ?
A vegan with a very junky diet will probably have a lot more deficiencies than an omnivore with one.

randomer · 21/07/2020 20:13

Sorry, I don't know what a vaguebook is.

Is it a relaxed lifestyle choice? I am just interested.

Soubriquet · 21/07/2020 20:14

You still aren’t elaborating what the fuck you are on about

You are being vague

Hence vaguebook...a play on Facebook

ContessaferJones · 21/07/2020 20:16

@randomer

People who are 'just interested' usually have an axe to grind in my experience, but fair enough. I think it can be pretty relaxed once you get used to it, and if the parent is vegan then they will surely already be au fait with most things vegan; ergo for a vegan parent, keeping a child healthy on a vegan diet could be quite straightforward. An omnivore parent may find it a bit more stressful initially but would adapt.
PotholeParadise · 21/07/2020 20:19

Constant vigilance!

JacobReesMogadishu · 21/07/2020 20:20

Dd is so vigilant she won’t walk through a field of cows.

AranciaRosso · 21/07/2020 20:20

Children are not vegan so you really shouldn't eat them at all if following a plant-based diet.

verypeckish · 21/07/2020 20:22

Or an article to write.

MinorArcana · 21/07/2020 20:22

Vaguebook - when someone puts a deliberately vague post on social media (such as Facebook). Often giving the impression that the poster is looking for attention.

Your OP isn’t at all clear and it’s difficult to understand what precisely you’re asking about.
