We have a toddler. He has just learned the word "Fart". DH thinks we should teach him to say "Blow off" instead as it's nicer/more polite.

AIBU to think "Blow off" is a much worse term than "Fart"? It sounds very crude to me. It definitely doesn't sound to me like a polite euphemism and I'd rather just say "Fart".

YABU = "Blow off" sounds more polite than "Fart".
YANBU = "Blow off" sounds worse than "Fart".

We use blow off. In fact 'have you blown off?/who's blown off?' are probably the most used sentences in our house Grin

Blow off sounds quite posh to me. What about guff?

To me, fart was a swear word never used in my family. so I hate hearing children use it and am not keen on it's migration to mainstream usage! I'm with your husband on this.
