AIBU to think blade and rose leggings are unisex?

I have a boy who wears them sometimes and keeps getting called a girl. Is it the leggings? (My husband says it is 😆) or maybe I just have a feminine looking boy.

Never heard of them but I googled them and have the babies wearing them were male

AryaStarkWolf · 13/07/2020 16:38

half the babies*

Unisex.

Bluntness100 · 13/07/2020 16:39

Depends on the colour scheme I guess you’re putting him in. Some of their leggings are very unisex some typically in pink etc. How old is he and what style hair?

Ultimately though all clothes are unisex.

Panda368 · 13/07/2020 16:39

My boy wears them. Also gets called a girl constantly - even when fully decked out in blue/green classic boy clothes - i think its his ringlets tbh.
I dont really think it matters, there isnt much to tell them apart at this age. I like the leggings so he gets to wear them.

AldiAisleofCrap · 13/07/2020 16:40

Not the llama ones but the others are.

TheMonaOgg · 13/07/2020 16:42

I think they are. My 4yo DS is too big for them now unfortunately. Our favourites were his unicorn ones.

Laaalaaaa · 13/07/2020 16:43

If you’re putting him in the pink unicorn / swan ones then yes, people are going to assume girl. Generally they are unisex.

bloodywhitecat · 13/07/2020 16:44

My 8 month old wears them, he's never been mistaken for a girl in them but I think that's because he's still a baldie.

My boy has the bear ones which are red and blue, blue weather ones, black and white fox ones and red and black pirate ones.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head with the curls, he has really curly hair at the back. He's just over 1.

YANBU, but there are still some rather odd people (and clothes retailers!) out there that think leggings are only for girls. My ds (4yo) lives in leggings or girl's jeggings. He's long and skinny, and leggings are the only bottoms that are long enough for him in the leg but don't fall down because the waist is too big.

Shmithecat2 · 13/07/2020 16:50

And my son is also mistaken for a girl on a daily basis. He has long hair. 🙄

hiredandsqueak · 13/07/2020 16:50

I've bought them for dgs, dd loves them as they are comfortable and easy to wash. He gets mistaken for a girl even in typical boy clothing because his hair is a mass of ringlets.

SunbathingDragon · 13/07/2020 16:52

My DD once wore some bright pink ones with a matching grey and pink T-shirt and I was told she was a lovely boy.

Nittersing · 13/07/2020 16:53

I have a boy who has 6 pairs of those leggings ( including the rainbow ones). He's never been mistaken for a girl and he's flipping adorable with blue eyes and curls.

SimonJT · 13/07/2020 16:55

My son had a few pairs before he outgrew them, clothes for children are for all children, you don’t need certain genitals to wear them.

Yorkshirepudding1987 · 13/07/2020 16:55

My boy wore them when he was younger. He had curly longish beautiful hair too and got called a girl.
I loved him in leggings though, he wore a lot of Fred and Noah too.

Stocking up for the next boy due in a couple of months now!

Russell19 · 13/07/2020 16:57

I must just have a girly looking boy 😂

Opps pressed post, my son has long hair, but its normally in a traditonal cloth bun. He sometimes gets called a girl, he usually corrects people and says hes a boy.

Minai · 13/07/2020 16:59

I had this a lot when my boys wore leggings. They were usually multi coloured or blue, never overly girly or pink but people just assumed they were girls.

AgentProvocateur · 13/07/2020 17:01

I’ve never heard of them, but when I read your title, I imagined adult leggings for some reason. 😂😂

Minai · 13/07/2020 17:04

He was without fail always called a ‘lovely little girl’ in this outfit. I didn’t think it was particularly girly!

My boys wore leggings and tights too in the winter.

GameSetMatch · 13/07/2020 17:21

My six year old won’t wear anything other than leggings, I usually get them from Next. They are meant for a boy but I have considered black female ones as they are half the price. Let the boy wear what he’s comfortable in!

Are those frugi? My ds has some very similar ones.
